hmmmm right ive been offered a decent amount of cash for a tune,lets just say it would help me out of some debt and make it easier for me for a while,BUT its for something im not sure i agree with

basically a mate works for a maketing comapny and wants me to do a backing track for a presentation video for a leisure complex-not so bad in itsself but the proposed complex would be built on greenbelt land and this is where i have my problem
in my opinion there is plenty of unused industrial plots around the country and this would just end up spoiling more of what little greenery we have in this country

now i know that whether i do it or not it will be done and the cash is a great deal more than i get for stacking shelves

what would you do?

This ones not for you, vurt. It would cut a little bit of your heart out--and money is probably the worst reason to compromise. The debts will get paid in time.

just needed to know i wasnt being stupid turning it down
but i will be honest it hasnt been easy ive even done the track in case i went with it :?and ive been thinking about it all week and this was just a final am i being mad saying no

but im glad first person in agreed with me

Ok, if you don't do it someone else will do.

You could have made your point using the track in a
clevrer way by chosing the right sounds...

Sometimes this can help to make the audience think,
the bosses are too fixed on there objectives to get
it and can be fooled easy.

You missed a chance to influence people to make
"the right choise".

also he has already said after this they have something else for a travel company which i may be interested in

speak through your music - i don't care where they put my music under as long as it gets heared.
As we all know Hilter was inspired by Wagner and played it during or before ceremony's
the fact Hitler was a raving lunatic on a murdering rampage doesn't make the music of Wagner bad.

see the music and the people who use it as two different things, be proud someone is offering you money for your music

money which could be used for worse. If it WOULD give you a bad feeling don't do it, never sell your soul for money. But try to look at things in life a little less entangled. It did help me a great deal in feeling less miserable.

didnt know what a green-belt was.. but the webpage cleared it up for me..

You will notice that no explicit mention is made of nature conservation. The term 'Green' in this case does not have that meaning, although it is often wrongly thought to do so. Green Belts were so called long before the word 'green' gained the wider use it has today.

what type of song does he want?

I'd probably make the song.. if for some reason it goes against your personal beliefs.. theres a many people whom it doesnt.. and besides I for one need the cash.

if anything you could donate part of the money to a charity or cause..

Nice one vurt. It is always hard to turn down cash. We are all meterialistic beings (at least I know I am) because of the way the system works. As has been said above by others, another chance may come up and you can earn some cash again, but you can never buy back your soul.

Now, let me go and sing the crossroad blues

Just joking, I'll stay away from singing and the blues for the moment and drink a silent beer to somebody who is prepared to stand up for principles.

it was an 18 minute vid that they basically wanted a laid back thing so as not to obscure the narrator
its actually a multi million dollar project
