I was thinking M6 if I ever get one, but that isn't going to happen. Probably now if I continue to like 7's is go with a Carvin. Tone wise, nothing I've had is as good at that. Still my favorite guitar, impeccable quality and not an earth-shattering price (though I think like most have gone up recently)Uncle E wrote:The new Classic Pros are $1,999 and we can discount that.hibidy wrote:The problem with me getting a suhr is that I'd have to come up with 2500 ish bucks in one shot. With guitars like the one I just got, it's a 12mo no interest thing.
Your next guitar?

Yeah, good point, I can imagine you with an M6. It's great to hear how much you love your Carvin, I'm surprised you got your recent Ibanez! I hear that their Allan Holdsworth pickup is on the level of the best aftermarket pickups.hibidy wrote:I was thinking M6 if I ever get one, but that isn't going to happen. I got the ibanez because
-It's gorgeous. I've ALWAYS had a thing for RG's
-The neck
-I've had great luck with prestige models
-It was my first 7. I hate to custom build one and then decide I don't want a 7
BTW, check you pm's, I'm not going to have this account much longer.

speaking of Carvin........

There are always REALLY nice guitars over at that place, but this really jumped at me. I want (but obviously not 8 string, one string increase at a time

Hibidy: I suggest to try also Mayones Guitars! Very expensive but probably the most 7\8 strings confotable (neck)

A couple of years ago I thought "maybe" I could save up for one, but from the 2500 they were then, that is well over 4000 now. Sorry, I'm not poor, but I don't have that kinda cash to spend on a "hobby". My prestige cost around 1100 with tax and that was a stretch.

Is that a koa top? Those don't look like Carvin pickups, is that a new design from them or do they use other pickups when they do 8-strings?hibidy wrote:speaking of Carvin........

Holy fap that EBMM is gorgeous... wow...
So is that Carvin 8 string. Next year I'll probably venture into 8 string territory. Enjoyed the 7 string I had a couple years back (J-Team Ibanez) but had to sell it to afford food and home for a while.
I LOVE plain wood-textured and colored guitars too. All guitars. Lovely instruments.

Yeah, if this one I got was a "j craft" maybe I'd not need to return it. Man, ibanez........it's hit or miss big timeCodestation wrote:Holy fap that EBMM is gorgeous... wow...

I have no idea still what carvin model or specs that is. I'd like to know since I've now caught the 7 string bug. If I ordered one it would likely be next year before I get it.....which would mean I could save up for it.

Lovely looking guitar. But as someone who has bought and sold many ibby's..beware. They are very inconsistent and I've had a tough time getting them to sound right (even if the aesthetics are correct or pickup replacement)
Still, if you can get it with a return policy, then who cares. It's worth a look. Again, nice looking guitar!
