there's so much crap, repetition, and filler in 'play'.

being that i have a mac 'puter an ipad, it would make sense to go iphone. but i can't really drop that kind of cash. besides, i'm really quite impressed with the cameras on these lumia phones

one thing i have always liked about the iphones is the size, but even they have just ditched that advantage (advantage, for me)

Maybe, but there's also loads of good apps. And as an app developer, you want to serve a big market, not a small one, that's why i wonder if the Windows app store will be a good replacement. I read more than once that it's pretty small compared to the Google Play. Nonetheless, i guess the important stuff like Youtube, the usual browsers, music players and all that will be there.

the windows app store is much smaller, but i would prefer the apps to be better controlled, as with ios, than open to any old crap

i guess that my requirements would be different. seeing as i have the ipad, i kinda have portable music covered. but it would be good to have a few grab-inspiration-now apps on a phone. aside from that, i would wan't vlc player, good sync between windows phone and mac, and a music player that could sync with mac itunes

until now, i didn't realise that 3 non-desktop windows versions existed. that also makes me a little wary

Having a pletora of apps isn't super important.

I notice having used smart phones for the past 5 years the apps I use most is the music player, and video player, and PDF and image reader.

I play some games, but that isn't very important for me.

When it comes to music apps Caustic for Android is like the bomb, that fills a big void

If I can get FL Studio for Windows Phone that would be a starting point there

FL Studio touch is in the play store. Maybe not for phones though?

Shame that desktop applications are not yet compatible with the mobile OS's. I think that the mobile stuff would really take off if that's happening. :) Of course if the apps are optimized to work well with touchscreen devices.

@ arkmabat: You can use it on phones too. But i think Numanoid meant FL Studio for Windows Phone.
