Fundraiser:

All proceeds of lux|nox sample libraries go directly to charity - in this case the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, who keep music alive in our schools by donating musical instruments to under-funded music programs, giving youngsters the many benefits of music education, helping them to be better students and inspiring creativity and expression through playing music. Kids thrive when given the chance to learn and play music. Putting an instrument into their hands improves the quality of their education and their lives. The window is brief and all kids deserve a chance to play music in school.

To obtain your copy of PERC+ do the following:

1) Make a donation to Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation on http://www.justgiving.com/chrissons
2) After making your donation, either e-mail luxnoxaudio(at)gmail(dot)com or message https://facebook.com/luxnoxaudio and present proof that you made a donation.

3) If you do not wish to donate at this time, you can download a free trial first from one of these mirrors: 1 | 2 | 3

update Dec. 8, 2014: we raised ca. 4.000 USD through the fundraiser on Justgiving.com, which is now closed. A warm thank you to all KVR members who have donated. As of December 8 we have set up a new, joint fundraiser with VI Control:

http://www.vi-control.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42489

So far, we have raised over 5.000 USD for the charity with that one.

PERC+ will continue to be available until the end of the year.

*** EDIT Jan. 1st, 2015: the fundraiser is now closed ***

This a great library and a truly great cause.

Glad to participate, spread the word :-)

Thanks for the kind words. With almost 100 donations, the charity fundraiser is currently at $2,326.75 - very happy that so many people are supporting this great cause, and can seem to find a good use for the PERC+ library, in many different musical styles... Check out today's addition The Sanatorium - a brooding, sinister cue by Tino Danielzik:

The percussive elements and bowed cymbals are 100 % PERC+.

Are donations with PayPal possible?
I've read on BPB that this was turned off. And since I don't have a credit card, I'd be left out of this.

On a personal sidenote - is this charity working internationally? Because I see a lack of music education in Germany as well. But if they also cover German ground, I'll gladly donate a buck or two.

Oh and the video is actually here:

@ kbaccki: thanks :)
@ compyfox: sent you a PM.

general note regarding Paypal: you can use this as a payment method when donating directly on the MHOF web site http://www.mhopus.org - the only difference is that it won't appear in the fundraiser total on justgiving.com (who only accept credit cards) - other than that it's the same procedure: just send a screenshot or a copy of the confirmation e-mail to me and I'll send you your download links.

OK, good to know... I guess JG accepts PP for UK-based payments only or something? Anyway... will go direct to the .org with PP. :tu:

A few updates:

Review: The Audio Spotlight have rated PERC+ "Awesome" and concluded that:
If you are looking for realistic & odd cymbal sounds, there is no way around this library.

The full review can be read here: http://theaudiospotlight.com/perc-review-luxnox

New demo track: Ephemeral Horror by Thomas Klotz:

https://soundcloud.com/luxnoxaudio/perc ... eralhorror

Note from Thomas:
Aside from the more obvious ambient parts, 90% of the percussion in the piece is the piano from PERC+. All I added was some subsonic thump through a combination of the HZ01 Low Hits and a Symptohm patch. There's so much useful content in PERC+, even just in the piano, I'll be including it in many pieces to come.

Additional content: an update for PERC+ is scheduled for release shortly and will contain a.o.:

* doumbek
* darbuka
* additional metal object percussion
* bell cymbal
* Chinese opera gong

This content update will be available to registered users at no charge.

Askaudiomag.com recently reviewed the PERC+ library and concluded:

"A library of unique, well-sampled, leftfield percussive sounds... You can make a donation to a very worthy cause and you get 14 GB of cool samples to add to your KONTAKT library. What's not to like about that?"

If you'd like to get this massive library as well: Last call - the fundraiser ends on Wednesday 31 December 2014.

We have raised over $12K so far - and this money goes to schools with underfunded music programs... many kids will benefit from your donation.

THANK YOU

Did this ever happen? I dont seem to be able to find any info on it.

This is being worked on, and just about finished - i.e. users are testing right now, and because the update is so substantial, we need to revise/re-organize the Instruments folder structure as well, based on feedback we are receiving. The initial plan was to have this free update out by the end of the year, but the success of the fundraiser has caused so much extra work for us (close to 800 users now) that we've fallen a bit behind schedule... so the update will be distributed to all users some time in January. The latest info can always be found on the Facebook page. Thanks for showing interest.
