So I updated the Panorama. Man the browser integration is awesome. Plus so much more REs to control and play with. This is on another level of fun and usefulness. Cant thank the people and Nektar and PH enough for this.
KFish needs to answer a simple question. What is an outdated sound?

Mr. Fister- whats your PUF username? The critics have claimed to have fingered you, and I would say that strength of character comes from standing proud with your beliefs. Do you have courage of a lion? Are you a man or a moose?
All this "greatly improved workflow" is PR horseshit. Very few people are satisfied with the rollout. I expect a point release within 90 days, following much fanfare from Sweden, then everyone will say "yay they do listen to us". Marketing genius, those corporate vikings.

Nektar's P4 was probably one of the best hardware controller purchases I have ever made in my life. It's just fantastic - and the fact that it works so seamlessly with not only Reason but other DAW is brilliant. It's bizarre - when I switched to soft studios back in the late 90's/early 2000's I sold all of my hardware (save for my Juno 106) and learned a different workflow. Now my P4 makes me feel like I am back in hardware workstation territory, but with all of the benefits of a soft studio.krucial wrote:So I updated the Panorama. How long has the panorama range been around? I am holding off buying the P1 in the event that a new model is released but thinking of buying after the next NAMM if nothing is announced

I'd rather just not involve myself. Forget it.

If you want, we can all go over to the PUF and have a conversation right now.
Who wants to? I don't ever post there after registering, but why not start now??
I've reported you, EnochLight. You're a weird person and should stop stalking and trolling people.

This whole thread is a bit weird

I'm in the PUF right now and I dont know who you think I am but you're totally wrong.
If you want, we can have a conversation in there right now!
EnochLight, You're a weirdo whose whole identity revolves around liking Reason. It's people like you who would lose all purpose in life if you didn't have some program to latch onto. If Props stopped being in business, there's is nothing you have going on in your life other than to stalk people on the internet and just be a total troll. You need to go outside and get some air.
Or try making music.
So with that said, stop over-thinking yourself and thinking everyone on the internet is one person. You're like a paranoid child and should grow up.

You're just polluting everything. You're not making any difference either.

These petty kindergarden "discussions" makes me feel like I'm on PUF.

I liked the browser and how to fold it to the side. The drag and drop is very useful.
It is still missing an important feature for me, which is auditioning Midi files and especially Drums patterns. I have many patterns but dragging and dropping every one into the Sequencer to hear it, is really not a practical way. I hope I've missed something and there is a way to audition these Midi patterns. Maybe, inside Cubase/Sonar as a ReWire slave/device?
I don't prefer the new bright style. The current one doesn't seem connected with the racks view. Anyway, I prefer the previous one, but what I really like is the old one for Reason 3 ...etc.
Why they didn't do it like a hardware ?like the rack view? Anyway, I was very glad that they didn't change the style of the devices especially the synths like Malstrom
I hope they would make the GUI for the devices little bit bigger (with the same style) and I hope they think of a good style/skin for version 9 or 10 (I vote for a Retro Reason 3, 4 skin, although I feel it won't happen!).

I'd imagine they'll vectorize old devices to make them scale for bigger resolutions such as 4k.

That's good news supposing that vectorizing won't affect the original design.

I made a thread in the PUF ( https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/sho ... ost1530518 ) illustrating what it could possibly look like using THOR as an example. I took screen shots of THOR for iPad and stitched them together - the difference in clarity is staggering. Here's an actual screen grab of THOR in Reason 4-8:EnGee wrote:That's good news supposing that vectorizing won't affect the original design.

And here's what Thor scaled to HD could possibly look like (I'll post a link instead of embed as the size is massive):

That mock up is beautiful. I think that many people don't stop and think about visual fatigue creating subconscious psychological workflow killers. High-Definition devices in Reason would be wonderful.
While on the subject, I find the sequencer too bright - it's a shame there are no functions to set a custom background colour. Maybe it's because I work in low-light environment (by choice), but those grey shades are demanding when sitting for 4+ hours at a time.
