Distorted bass inside DAW

Hi there, new here, using MuLab Free 6.0.35 64 bit on windows Vista. I'm getting distorted bass sounds from inside MuLab (for example, bd-1.wav), but if I play the .WAV file in Windows media player, it sounds fine. Can someone point me in the right direction to fix this?

How are you playing the sample? Are you using a plugin module in a rack? Is the rack level meter indicating an overload? (i.e. red clip led at the top of the level meter)

From new session, I just did Session/Import Sample Sound and pressed the play button. There was a red clip at the top of the MASTER audio Output; even though I lowered the gain the sound is still distorted.

I'm really new to this, so please bear with me.

edit: I selected the ASIO4All v2 driver and the sound in MuLab is now cool.
