Other than ergonomics a gui would have to be incredibly ugly to make me want to stop using the plugin just because of that when the sound is excellent. Same with Charlatan etc.
I somewhat agree with you... But maybe it is because when having a bad eyesight we use the plugins more with our ears than with our eyes...

Tell me about it. I have those annoying floating spots so I am happy when I don't have to stare at gui's :) I wish my eyes were as good as my ears still are :hihi:

Kinda pointless to make a blanket statement like that without an explanation. Anyway it's a great synth that plays a part in many of my productions regardless of graphics. This whole trip reminds me of video games. Sometimes great graphics are just a façade over the same old thing and often disguise weak gameplay. This is not the case with Obxd, quite the opposite.

I've already stated my opinions in the relevant thread when the GUI making process was active.

Hello from a newbie to KVR. :-)

In regards to some of the previous posts I read regarding not being able to load OBXD patch banks in Fruity Loops 11, I too was unable to load the banks (well, they'd load but wouldn't show anything) using the 64-bit VST. However, loading the 32-bit version appears to work properly. If you're still having problems, try giving that a shot.

Also looking forward to his new approch of the GUI (as mentioned recently). I am quite sure he could do something great again.
thanks Ingo. i have a sneaking suspicion this beely A-hole is someone that was trolling around
making stupid statements about the gui from the last time it was being developed.
its pretty obvious since the majority of users find it at the very least "usable" and not horrible. so suck it beely.

Yes. There are so many trolls at KVR...
For me the only problem that I have with the GUI of OBXD is not due to the GUI itself but to my eyes: I need GUI's having excellent contrasts and the contrasts in this one are just a bit weak for my eyes, that's all. But I perfectly do with it... and I like it a lot for its artistic touch, discrete but really present. It was a very good job.

I think the GUI is great. Perfectly functional and nice to look at.

Sorry I haven't followed the whole convo, but when the new parameters get added to the GUI, will there be a way to load presets too if our hosts doesn't load banks?

Post

I would like a transparent gui so that I can look inside my monitor :hihi:

OBxray :D

thanks, Echos...2Dat has not mentioned anything about a preset handling function in the new version, sadly.

i agree winny, having brightess, contrast and tint knobs hidden behind the
global section like on an old color tv would be pretty cool! 8)

I thought about it. It's doable, but it will consume a lot of space for new controls: preset load, bank load, preset switching buttons, etc.. :P
