This thing would be really nice if it doubled as a touchscreen controller for the VST a la Lemur. A touchscreen for the joystick would be pretty damned sweet (in fact just make the joystick full screen).

By the way, a quick tap on most of the knobs brings up a larger dial and a numerical readout, although it's unfortunately MIDI-esque 0-127 for all controls rather than the 0-99 or Hz readout the VST uses so some mental scaling is necessary if you want to translate back and forth.

Here's my take on the latest virtual look back at 80's synths:

And this is a real sweet track.

Glad you like it! Thanks for the props.

There's a lot of iPad synths that sound great patched through good hardware into a DAW and then out through monitors. imo

The iProphet sounds great but I was disappointed that its MIDI implementation is badly broken--app-based controllers such as xynthesizer and chordpolychord won't connect, aren't in the routing menu, and so this may have been released a little prematurely. (iPad AIR, IOS 7.02)

Yeah it's pretty good.
I actually like it more than iSem but don't take that as a fair comparison. I'm not getting much John Carpenter / Alan Howarth out of it. More like C64 demoscene sounds.

I was considering getting this app as I have the Arturia VST and it's pretty cool. However, looking at the track record that Arturia/Retronyms has with iMini (still not working with Audiobus in iOS 8 ) and the strange control values, poor midi support/implimentation, etc., I'm going to wait and see if it ever develops into what it should be. iSEM was done I believe by Arturia/TempoRubato and they did a good job capturing it. And the updates are timely.

I just found Iprophet to not be very useful in my production, I can get a lot of the same or better things from animoog, of course this is only opinion, but i suggest checking out videos from the soundest room and /or other sources before buying this. It could just be that I don't like its sound very much.
