Ooops, sorry, misread the quote structure. I edited my post to read "basslinemaster."foosnark wrote:I think you got some people confused there... somebody else was looking for "traditionally musical sounding presets." My preferences run decidedly non-traditional.zerocrossing wrote:We all have different ways of working and if Foosnark is looking for traditionally musical sounding presets, well there are thousands of software solutions for that. Bazille is not that kind of instrument.![]()
Last night I went through the manual, figured out the few bits that didn't make sense and the possibilities available, and started tinkering. It was pure joy.![]()
For me this is the synth of the year -- quite honestly it's probably the synth of the century. It's absolutely great for tinkering, and it has crazy unabashedly digital oscillators that are super-rich with possibilities. I'm sure I could come up with a long wishlist of things I would change or add, but it would be a serious challenge fitting them into an already very full interface.

Have a lot more to go through but so far I'm really impressed with the presets. Modular chaos and musical sanity aren't ultimately inconsistent, it's channeling the chaos into musical application where I think something greater emerges. Designers have met this challenge very well.

Here's a few patches I made this morning if anyone would like them: (Right-click and save as, if the download doesn't pop up)

Interesting. If I take that approach, it might yield better results.xh3rv wrote:Modular chaos and musical sanity aren't ultimately inconsistent, it's channeling the chaos into musical application where I think something greater emerges.
If Bazille can ultimately help me overcome that challenge, I'd love it for that.

apologies if this has already been raised but is anyone else getting stuck notes? I am getting this quite a bit and I need to remove the instance of Bazille and load a new one to fix it...

What DAW are you using? Cubase has a bug where it might trigger sounds twice (ontop of eachother) which creates stuck notes when "midi all" is chosen as your midi input instead of your specific midi controller.Kindred wrote:apologies if this has already been raised but is anyone else getting stuck notes? If that's not it then yeah it might be a bug lol and you could try lower release time maybe.

Thanks but any chance of zipping them? Stupid Safari keeps converting them to text files.JC_ wrote:Here's a few patches I made this morning if anyone would like them: (Right-click and save as, if the download doesn't pop up)

Stuck notes sounds like you still have a beta version installed. What revision number is printed on the UI next to the u-he logo?Kindred wrote:apologies if this has already been raised but is anyone else getting stuck notes? Honestly, can't say I am crazy about most of the presets. I prefer much more presets like the type Spire and Nemesis have.

Bought it the other week and had quite a bit of chaotic fun with it already.
It's certainly more advanced than my synth knowledge (especially FM/PD), but it's a great and intuitive way of learning. And virtual cables are an endless source of excitement!
I don't feel that $89 is "overpriced" at all. Even at its full price it will be cheaper than many other commercial synths that aren't as flexible. CPU load is relatively high, but not on Diva level for me (I only tried the demo of Diva). I had also tried Serum (I only wanted to buy one, Bazille or Serum, though they're quite different), and that one ate more CPU cycles.
