MUTOOLS told me they were fixing the looping bug in MuLab.
I haven't heard from MOTU yet, although I sent a similarly detailed e-mail to them. Maybe they fix the looping problem in the next update, just did not notify me. Anyway, we'll see...

Thanks,
Attila

Hello Attila,

thank you for the bug fixes and improvements.
The Auto Scale feature is definitely a step in the right direction, but it still needs some improvements to be more usable, I think.
musicdevelopments wrote: ... So an "A minor" chord will set the "A minor" scale for the duration of the chord, but when the next chord becomes "C major", the scale will become "C major" as well...
This is ok so far, but if the chord changes from C major to D minor the scale will be D natural minor as it is now, but it should be D dorian (and so on according to the other modes).
The basic principle should be, that the scale notes that are not forced to change because they are also chord notes (and change from one chord to the other) should not change unnecessarily. I hope you understand what I mean.
In addition to that the scale needs to be displayed under the chord symbol. At the moment it only reads "Auto" under the first chord and I need to figure out the scale notes by looking at the shading in the piano roll. But then it also should be visible if it's an automatic or manual scale change, maybe by using a different color or bold letters for one of it.

Hi Attila!
First question ...
What number latest beta version?
I ask because my link gives me 2.74b and when the file is downloaded,
I can not open the DMG ... May be the wrong link? Inform me please!

Good news! ...
After the release update DP disappeared problems with synchronization of plugin and transportation problems also disappeared! In this regard no more problems! It seems to me that  MOTU without answering your question just solved the problem in the new update)))

The first test revealed a few bugs ...
-Are still not saved the composition in the form in which I was saving (
The composition is not deployed to the full width of the window as it was saved!
If you close the plugin and the plugin is not turned off and plays, the plug-in window can not be opened again ... We need to turn off the plugin and switched on again, only in this case, the plug-in window will open again !
- I think plugin is very high load on the CPU!

I very much ask, if you can do it ...
- Please! Please! Please! Drag-and-drop MIDI file to the RC !

- Possibility of entering chords using MIDI controller -
1.Progression editor
2.Chord Rules Editor

And can optionally able to set a timeline without pressing  shift, but only with the mouse (with one hand)))))

And of course really looking forward to Jazz Scale Rules !

Respectfully lulukom

Yes, I want to clarify that in the new version of the DP is not so good, as I described in the previous post ...
There are no problems in sync with the RС only small values of the buffer (16 and 32 - it is a novelty in the DP) and then of course the load on the CPU and most often audible artifacts in the sound!
But for large values of the buffer sound good, but return the old problem with the sync and not playing the first notes in the loop ...
So I was delighted and soon the problem remains! ..
Good luck to everyone

Hi lulukom,

I am disappointed too. Today I sent an e-mail to MOTU asking about the fix. There was no mention about it in the DP8.07 release notes.
I can not open the DMG ... May be the wrong link? Inform me please!
There is no beta version available for OS X now. If you download the latest v2.73 release, it contains the latest fixes.
- Please! Please! Please! Drag-and-drop MIDI file to the RC !
Do you mean directly dropping a clip into a track?
- Possibility of entering chords using MIDI controller -
1.Progression editor
2.Chord Rules Editor
You can enter chords using the MIDI controller in the Chord Rules Editor. I am not sure if it works in the VST plug-in version, I have to check and fix it. The progression editor will be improved soon and will contain this feature.

Thanks,
Attila

Hi Attila!
Thanks for the answer!

Yes , you can enter chords using a midi controller, but only in the master track, but not in Chord rules editor!
Or I do not know how to do it? I do not mean VST ! In Chord Rules Editor ?Where once you click the plus red box? it does not work ... Change already written chord can only enter names of chords from the computer keyboard! Then what?

" - Please! Please! Please! Drag-and-drop MIDI file to the RC !"
" Do you mean directly dropping a clip into a track? "
Yes ! Yes! Yes !
Please! It would be super handy!

Sincerely lulukom!

Hi lulukom,
I am sorry, I was wrong! :dog: It is not possible to use the MIDI keyboard in the Chord Rules Editor.
A new universal chord button will be added soon which will be used everywhere in the program, and which will provide lots of functionality.

Thanks,
Attila

Hi Attila!
" A new universal chord button will be added soon which will be used everywhere in the program, and which will provide lots of functionality "
Thank you, it will be very good!
Please do not forget and do drag-and-drop MIDI files directly in the RC track!
This is a very will advance work with the program, especially with the VST
and the DAW ! And directly in relativity form!
Thanks again for your work!
Sincerely lulukom
PS As long as I still can not understand the "New scale type: Auto" ... it's good or not and how to use it?
And really looking forward to solve the problems with MOTU !

Dear lulukom,

>PS As long as I still can not understand the "New scale type: Auto" ... it's good or not and how to use it?

I know what you mean. I also don't know if it is useful or not. An RC user who writes >20 songs each month for an American music producer requested this feature. I will think about Max's comments too (Thanks, Max!)

>And really looking forward to solve the problems with MOTU !

The lead developer at MOTU is dealing with the looping issue right now, so fingers crossed ;)

New beta version (v2.8b1) is available, built only for windows/full version!

Changes:
  • The new very precise, low-latency MIDI sequencer is used automatically when all tracks are MIDI (no SF2/VSTi). When using mixed VSTi/SF2/MIDI tracks, the old sequencer is used, which is based on audio timing. The play button becomes yellow when the new sequencer is used.
  • MIDI only usage is possible without setting any audio interface. For playback you don't need to set an audio interface as before if you have MIDI tracks only.
  • Each track can have its own midi output device, allowing virtually unlimited number of midi outputs. You can still set a 'default' MIDI output in the Settings which is used for newly created tracks
  • 16th note triplet added to the available snap and grid options
  • [Experimental, will be probably removed from v2.8] New scale type: Auto (scale is assigned automatically based on the chord). E.g. for G minor chord, the scale will become G minor. Do not use this with relative chord notation!
Please report any bugs here in this topic, or send me e-mail.

Thanks,
Attila

You are welcome! :)
If all goes well, the VST plug-in will have a local sequencer with transport buttons in a few days. That is you'll be able to choose between 'host' mode (transport buttons disabled) and 'local' mode (transport buttons enabled).

Thanks,
Attila

Post

The latest beta version v2.8b2 is available now with a host-independent sequencer in the VST plug-in.
It is built for all PC/Mac+Full/LE+x86/x64 combination.
If you use mostly the VST plug-in, this will be a big workflow improvement, I hope.
Please report bugs...
Have a good Sunday! :)

Thanks,
Attila
