Results: demo does not open at all, because Live crashes or does not even see the plugin. I think I am going to uninstall this mess. The only trustable plugins for me are the ones protected by SN and/or simple C/R.
Why do Waves even bother? It'll probably get cracked within a month.

iLok* is just such a big f you to customers-

Sounds very average on first listen, patches could have been made any other number of synths already out there.
Mac Studio M4

Cubase 15, Ableton Live 12

I got a beta version of Codex, and created this track with it:

(not sure how to embed here...)

All tracks were recorded using Codex, except for the acoustic drums of course...

Waves does NOT use ilok anymore (since V9)

ILok or not, this thing does not work properly on Windows7, I just could not try the product, after registering (expecting "newsletters" from now on), installing the extra antiparacy whatever Waves software etc. A demo should just be "download and install it" IMO.

I like their ergonomic user interfaces...

Having said this, this one looks like it higher than wide, which might be a problem, or the whole thing is rather smallish.

Did anyone know of their developing that synth? I had not read anything about it on KVR, maybe I just missed it...

I thought this true of the first Waves synth, too.

This makes me a bit sad. It looks like a Serum clone. At least Waves should have had the decency to release it a few months after the product they are ripping off was released. I think that's really bad.

And another wavetable synth will come soon which i am currently testing.

Unless they employed industrial espionage there's no way they have ripped off Serum, it's only been out a couple of weeks and pretty much out of the blue, so they would have had to develop it impossibly rapidly. Just a coincidence/current synth zeitgeist sort of thing.

Most likely it was like this:
They were reading lukewarm opinions of Element on KVR forums and then realized that they need to come out with something more original. Then out of the blue someone said: "A wavetable synth!". Everyone were smiling because of the flash of genius and high-fives were given all around and back-patting ensued.

Then they made the Codex.
