Yup, because when I went to the page for the LE download earlier today, what I actually downloaded from that page was the full version

So I installed the full version thinking it was the LE version, but it was the full version demo

Then I tried to locate the LE version, which I found by some help here.

Then I tried to install that, but got error, even when I tried as admin

So I figured I better start from scratch, and uninstall the full demo version.

And then I managed to install the LE version

the labels for pan seem wrong, it's written PAN EXT for both knobs instead of Pan Left and Pan Right

A final twist in the saga was that I got an error trying to install the LE, even as admin.

Turns out Xils 3.2 and Xils 3.2 LE doesn't go together like ebony and ivory, and can't live together in harmony

Uninstalling Xils 3.2 solved the problem, now I got the 3.2 LE up and running.

Worth the hassle

Yes when/if you upgrade to Xils 3 V2 full version, the Xils 3 V2 will simply replace the LE version. So ALL your projects made with the LE will be 100% compatible, and you'll carry on working on them without having to replace anything, but with the advantage of the additional power of the Xils 3

Great. This synth has some seroius serious bite in the filters. Wow. DECAY & FILTER (5hZ minimum woot!!!) mapped to joystick on only one badass PWM SAW from OSC1 and it sounds bloody brilliant. Chorus is pretty interesting too. And the envelopes...oh boy...I love them. Very versatile and unique in the synth world. Btw due all those path issues can you please check if REVERB MODE 3 is muted? Or does it only happens to me...
Anyway, awesome synth. Pairs nicely with another mono synth of mine. Finally a POLY that kept my interest.

Thanks Yes the EmS also invented ..... VECTOR SYNTHESIS a long time ago. And its exactly what the Xils 3 Joystick can do for you. It also acts as a MACRO controller, as you can assign a lot of source modulations to it. ( and in the Xils 3 full even assignable sources like EV segments, output of LFO or envelopes etc etc)

Now the reverb 3 mode : I would not say it only happens to you, but it works here and in all the systems we tested. Its not daw or system dependant, as its an internal module. I assume that within the same preset you can clearly hear Reverb in mode 1 and 2 if you switch to these modes ? To get reverb in the Xils 3 you must 1/ Connect signal to Rev input 2/ Connect Rev input to outputs 3/ Shape the reverb with EV or osc/lfo etc. But the first thing is to test if you can hear rev in mode 1/2 AND NOT in 3.

Didnt have time yet to actually do something with the synth (will have to wait until the weekend) but whilst checking out whats there as far as features i noticed a typo on the UI, under Input/Transient it says 'Sensivity' instead of Sensitivity.


Might post some more feedback after i had the chance to check out all the functions.

Thanks again for the free serial, for an LE it sure seems to be a quite capable thing.

A little tip for the two audio outputs, each one with an Lp/HP filter. With two filters of the same type ( 2 LP or 2 HP ), if you play with the gain and the pans its very easy to make largeeee scenes, especially with slightly different settings in the filters frequency. But ........ if you put different filters on the two stereo outputs ( one hp + one lp ), then you can achieve some terrific things

I can confirm the reverb issue. It seeems to happen when you select Reverb 3, then select another reverb choice and switch back. It will then disappear and you'll just have the dry signal. But Reverb 1 and 2 will still work.

sounds great, and is working fine on my setup. I need to move in some presets from the last version: how do I do that?

2 other things: I downloaded it, installed and it never asked for my serial number for the original version. is that the way it's supposed to go? I saw how some folks got asked a couple of times.

the other thing is I was going to go ahead and buy the new sound bank, but it says that my email is already in use (so I can't check out). tried to do the forgotten password button, but never received anything about it in my email. i'll try my old email and see if that works.

edit: just tried using my old email and that will work, but when I got to the payment part of the whole process, for some reason there were 3 sound banks in my cart instead of 1. couldn't find a way to edit that, so I just backed out. any other way to order?

To move custom presets from the ancient to the new version :
1/ Open ancient versions, then export presets using the 'export bank' function
2/ Open new version V2, import the bank(s) you just exportedin step 1

To order the soundbank, I think you should log out of the site, close web browser,reopen it, clean your web browser cache, then try again. It should work. If this still doesnt work, please contact Xils-Lab via the site contact us utility, and your query will be answered in less than 24h ( usually)

sorry, that sounded pretty straightforward, but can't figure it out. the sound banks are in a drop down, along with the export command. I have to choose one or the other. can't figure out how to choose a bank and then export.

I can't seem to figure out how the banks actually work either (as far as where they are stored on my computer). I know when I import one, it just stays on my desktop afterwards. are they stored as sound banks somewhere, or are they turned into something else like a text document once they've been imported. was trying to find the folder with all of my old banks.

They are stored in c:/users/public/Documents/

After a succesful import you can remove the soundbank file from your desktop.
