Just gave it a quick go. Lovely thing, and when chaining patterns, you have a full 128 of steps, which is more than enough for my needs.
Really happy about this, because i can't work with BlueArp under Cubase, because it gives me a saw like noise sound every time i add it, and Cream's GUI is better anyway. As far as i could see, there's nothing really missing in Cream CM for me.

The new CM popped up in my Zinio account. The CM version looks great. Spotted a very sad typo in the copy though. It says if you like CM Cream, do NOT go to the Kirnu website to check out the full version. Weird.
Can't wait to try it out.
Cheers

I think that typo is genius advertising, anything we are told not to do, we like to do

So I've been... abusing Cream.

Probably a little hard to read with the resizing, but I have three instances of Cream up on a single instrument: one at 1/1, one at 1/4 and a third at 1/16. The idea being that I can feed it a single note, the first one does a slow chord arpeggiation, the second one arpeggiates that, and finally the 1/16 instance arps the 1/4 output, creating something... well bizarre since it's an experiment. Musical? Baaaarely, I mean not only is there a fair degree of perceived randomness but it's in Dorian for crying out loud. But I'm hoping to pull out some spooky thing for Halloween out of it.
Play my cards right and I'll have 32 bars of kinda-sorta-repeating arp off of a single note, and in theory I guess I could turn that into 384 if I can bother to figure out how the pattern sequencer works.
(One caveat: The playhead has to start before the MIDI block in Logic or random notes get skipped for some reason.)

There's a very useful tutorial video for Cream CM btw, on the DVD or in the vault, alongside the other tutorial videos. Pretty much explains all of its features.

Hi all,
Yes, that is indeed a terrible mistake in the mag – and I can only hold my hands up and apologise, as it was entirely my screw-up.
So if you like Cream CM, then please DO check out Kirnu's site, which is at http://www.kirnuarp.com
You can get Cream CM with our new issue: http://bit.ly/cm210
Here is the tutorial video explaining how Cream CM works:

Does anyone know if they sorted the compatibility issues with Presonus S1?
Thanks,

Cool, cheers!chk071 wrote:Of which kind? I will try it in S1 Producer later.Robmobius wrote:Does anyone know if they sorted the compatibility issues with Presonus S1?
I read it on Kirnu's website. It was about a midi clock issue. It couldn't be synced properly. Apparently, it was down to S1's architecture, and that it was on their list of their fixes.

R.

I just tried it, and yes, it's out of sync when you do a mixdown (i tried a mixdown of the whole track, though it was only one synth in it). Instead of high-low-high-low (note), as it was when playing in "real time", it is low-high-low-high on the mixdown, as an example. The tempo is ok, but it's somehow delayed. It might work ok with the workaround in the thread from the link though i guess.

Yeah that.s a shame... I might try the demo with that workaround to see what happens.chk071 wrote:I just tried it, and yes, it's out of sync when you do a mixdown (i tried a mixdown of the whole track, though it was only one synth in it). No, there isn't. They wrote in the mag though that there will be a christmas sale for Kirnu full version, if that helps.TheKid wrote:As asked before: will there be an upgrade offer from CE to full?
