"can't find track" is the message you get when trying to connect...probably because it's coded as private...I *think* ya have set it to public to shareraymondwave wrote:Check this envelope behavior out, it's what I explained a few messages ago. This is the Emerald Dream (MW) preset, maybe slightly modifed, but you can hear when two consequtive chords in the middle share notes, there is something funky going on and it's not a smooth transition. The rest of the chord changes don't share notes.

It's a private track, hope it works. Didn't find a way to embed.
Can anyone confirm this?

It's public now. Didn't want to mess up my main page with this kind of a demo, so I'll be deleting it quite soon.

I will say that the GUI controls are a bit ...laggy...and I'm having a hard time getting them to map to my kyb contoller... but when I do, they operate just fine...even when using the mouse, it's only the graphic that lags, there is no stairstepping, etc...but I digress...
In short- I do know what you're talking about and I DON'T know what might be causing it... as I cannot recreate it at present, it seems inconsistent at best.
All that said- I am glad I picked this up...was really vacillating on the decision...but I really do like the sound

I loaded that preset (emerald wave) and had a play around and either I'm not having the problem or I just have no idea what I'm supposed to find. I don't know if I hear the issue in the clip.

I was having the same issue as raymond earlier:hibidy wrote:I loaded that preset (emerald wave) and had a play around and either I'm not having the problem or I just have no idea what I'm supposed to find. I don't know if I hear the issue in the clip.
you can hear a retrigger at 5 second mark in the clip...
I was getting retrigger behavior on sounds with long attack envelopes...sounded like either note stealing or at least the attack portion of the envelope was "skipped" ...sounds like it "started in the middle"?... I dont know if I am describing it right either... All I know is that it WAS there and now I am having a difficult time getting Codex to flub it in the same way. Weird ;P

If you play two consecutive same notes with plenty of attack and release, the latter note plays with a noticable quick attack if you play it while the release tail is still aloud. Play different notes and it doesn't happen.
Not good for pads, since it introduces a snappy attack when it's definately not wanted. And since quite a lot of chords share notes, it happens very often atleast here.
This actually happens with Element too.
Blortblort described the issue just like I experienced it too.

I can't share all of my trade secrets! I never actually dug deep into Rundgren's music, but I can see what you're saying. My roots are basically in the 70's prog rock stuff, as well as well as some Pat Metheny and cheesy disney melodies thrown in.zerocrossing wrote:Nice track! Very Todd Rundgren. How long did it take you to develop that synth face? It was almost better than the track itself.innervisions wrote:I got a beta version of Codex, and created this track with it:
(not sure how to embed here...)
All tracks were recorded using Codex, except for the acoustic drums of course...

BTW, thank you so much for your lovely comments on the track, everyone!

I am liking how analog you can get with this little bugger.
Here is a fretless bass patch I have been working on:

Yeah, "analog" would be one way to describe it. I really like the sound of it. (big question mark on playability with my hosts! )

I opened up a new project today and I can't get that behavior happen either anymore, weird thing. ADSR seems to play just as intended, release tails mixing smoothly with attacks.blortblort wrote:I *thought* that was what you were talking about... I initially experienced the same... but now- I'm trying to recreate it and I'm having a hard time... At first, it sounds like note stealing...but even when I turn the "notes" value down to 4 and play clusters, I'm not getting that odd retriggering like what you are talking about in your recording (around 0:05 seconds in...)
I'm liking the sound also. Similar thing happened with Element, just can't seem to stop playing with this synth.

My DAW keeps thinking it's an effect instead of a synth, something to do with the shell I suppose. Waves plugins are always such a pain in the ass, I'm finished trying to get their products to work properly.

What host? If FL Studio I had this problem and you have to open the shell under instruments.
