Thanks. Totally agree with you, navigating on the site is not easy. It really needs to be improved.
Thas why I gave all links in the newsletter, and in this thread sevral times. But for those who land on Xils site .... its far from beeing intuitive.

Btw the current logic is :

All the installers are located in the "Dowwnload" page/tab of each product.
All the Demos versions in the "Demo" Tab
To access products the easiest is probably to visit first the "Products" page on the site, then click on one instrument icon to get directed to the pages of this product.

"Xils Lab - Cheap Synths that Almost Work"

:-P
Sorry Frantz, I usually agree with you but that's just not true.

There are clearly some teething issues with this light release, but to think that all Xils Lab synths (or effects) are cheap or ''almost'' work is way off.
No problems with any of the others that I have bought: Oxium, Xils 3 and Xils 4 (the full versions, so I haven't bothered with this light version) are especially good, and Le Masque Delay is a really, really great loop / echo vst.

(I also have Synthix, Xils V+, ChorX and RAMSES - but don't use them as much).

Cheers.

Xils 3.2 LE V2.0 benefits from the same pristine audio engine than the Xils 3 & 4 series, wich has been described as an incredible authentic emulation by all revievers.

Capable of producing both a very wide range of classic analog sounds, and sounds no other analog synth can do, The XILS 3 LE V2.0 cumulates an authentic emulation of the Synthi ( VCS 3 ) modular synthesizer and a replica of the 256 Analog Sequencer, its natural companion.

Add to the pile the Analog Chorus with its three modes, the analog Delay, and the vintage Spring Reverb ... the picture emerges.

In the XILS 3 LE V2.0, you can connect everything with everything, and you get more than 440 possible different connections per patch. At Audio Rate, so that each of the 6 oscillators can perform as an LFO for example.

An endless source of inspiration for those who want to go deep into the heart of Analog Modular Synthesis.
Input modules : Gate, Transient, Envelope Follower and Pitch Tracker also transform the XILS 3 LE V2.0 into a powerfull VST-AU Effect Processor !

Is that in reply to my post above praising you?

XILS 3.2 LE.
What does the LE stand for if not light (lite) edition?

Confirmed.

Tooltips of controls that are positioned lower than the right side tabs do not cause the indicator to freeze.

As for the KEYB thing, i know now whats going on.

KEYB OFF is in deed KEYB GATE, but it is also KEYB TRIG. In other words it sends the trigger voltage to the AD stages and the gate voltage to the Sustain stage. When the gate goes out, the Release stage is triggered.

KEYB ON on the other hand only works as KEYB TRIG, in other words it merely triggers the AD stages but does not provide a gate voltage. Since the Sustain and Release stages are out of the game that way, the envelope now functions like a traditional AD envelope, where the Decay stage doubles as a 'quasi-Release'.

The question is, what is really the problem here. Are only the labels wrong or did Xavier mix up the functions? Guess we should ask him what his intent was, because right now you could either adapt the labels OR the functions...

Lotuzia wrote: Its not a beta. It works ok on thousands of people configs atm. Some bugs will be fixed, no synth is totally bugless. And that's it. If admitting from our side that there is still some work to be done on a synth, beeing honnest, try to help people, and pusblish to fixes in less than two days, leads to this kind of conclusions, then, communication on forums will probaly shrink to minimum, from a dev POV.
The company is free to do what it wants with feedback from a customer. I usually don't post something about 1 thing not working. It's all has to do with the amount of time you need to get something working that was sold to you (no matter what the price). One evening wasted could be acceptable, the second is more of a pain imo.
Xilslab seems very proud while I had two strange evenings, I haven't had before in almost 20 years of software use.
I know bugs belong to software but these bugs meant;
Software not to be found.
Software not to authorise at all.
Banks not to be imported.
And I should not mind that, and see it just like minor bugs in other software?
talking about being honest, I just want to express my experience here and you say that the company might stop communicating if I express my experience????

You get these reactions from me because I can't avoid Xils threads since you do everything in the main Instruments or Effects forums. If you had your own Xils KVR forum, I would hide it and wouldn't see or react to these posts.

I wasn't serious. I am making sarcastic comments because there is no way to block Xils from Latest Posts. Any other company that posts this much on KVR has their own forum.

So they are making you post stuff... how evil! :borg:

Bought this yesterday for €10. Installed, authorised and imported the extra preset bank without any issue on Cubase 7.5.3. Very nice synth and an absolute steal at this price. Cheers!

Ah sorry, I wasn't able to tell.

(Although the more ironic thing is how my post, in support of XILS, should then be cockily queried by them for the correct usage of the word ''light''...)

You misunderstood this.

It was merely a copy of the opening post, i.e. not directed at you.

What they meant to point out was simply the fact that the product is called 'Light', but still more powerful than other 'non-light' products.

Thats the price of success ( for us )

If you dont like Xils posts, just dont read them. This is what I do if I'm not interested in a thread..Other companies have their forum in KVR and post in the instrument as well, in addition, so your argument is just what it is : Not valid. Success of this post would have been the same if we had a forum on kvr AND practise the same as other companies.
I would not recommand any company to have their forum on KVR btw. To me, its a risk. What if KVR sudenly disappear, or change its rules regarding hosting of subforums ? or servers fail ? No more forum, no more users post history ? Xils has its own forums. Now to each his own.

Ah, thanks ENV1 and Lotuzia

I blame the internet for its treacherous sarcasm-obscuring, post-befuddling ways.
Time for a cup of tea and a hobnob.
