Sorry, I don't have Logic. Someone said you can just ignore that validation error somehow(?). The VST version seems to work much better on OSX...EDGEK8D wrote:Has anyone gotten this to work in Logic 9 or X? I can't.

Thanks, ya know what? I just opened it anyway and it will work even though Logic 9 labels it as "Incompatible".z.prime wrote:Sorry, I don't have Logic. I've never seen this happen before, even with other unauthorized plugins.

Had an almost similar problem this month. As I want to record all my MIDI in one take, I have to filter notes from a drum pad to feed into instances of synth1. I will do this with reaper internal plugins. For other things I tried pizMidi. Very nice stuff.z.prime wrote:piz midi plugins have pretty much everything you need for that. http://www.thepiz.org/plugins/?p=pizmidi (site seems to be down; you can download them here: https://code.google.com/p/pizmidi/downloads/list)RichardSemper wrote:That's a really interesting approach. Something similar occured to me while programming an acoustic guitar patch, as its only good for about one octave before its necessary to change some parameters to keep the realism. How do you get the DAW to filter the midi input to key range?Pulse Width Modulation wrote:I'm trying a new technique with this synth. I'm approaching some sounds almost like you would i creating a multi-sampled instrument in a sampler. For things like an electric piano, I am going to use several different instances of Synth 1, all split into specific key ranges on the keyboard and played together as one instrument. So each instanceof Synth 1would be designed to cover about an octave of the piano, and then I use my DAW to filter the MIDI input to he specific key range.

Actually, after working with it for a while, unfortunately it is unstable as an AU, and the timing of my sequencer is all over the place. Driving me crazy. In the interest of maintaining my mental health, I'm going to have to not participate this month. Good luck to all. See you guys soon.

Too bad to hear; I very much enjoyed your last track! You don't have any sequencers that support VST to use?EDGEK8D wrote:Actually, after working with it for a while, unfortunately it is unstable as an AU, and the timing of my sequencer is all over the place. Hi,
this is my submission for this month's contest,
to the honor of Jesus, my God.
"God in the desert"
https://soundcloud.com/carl_saved/god-in-the-desert
21 Instances in Ableton Live 9
No external effects
I'd like to share my attitude towards this piece
with a few lines from the song
"Every song, every melody" composed by Dieter Falk.
"Every Song, every single melody,
Everything I play and sing I dedicate to you.
Oh my lord, that is all I want to do:
Thank you for letting me be the tap it's going through
- it comes back to you!"
Furthermore, I want to give thanks to the creator of Synth1.
The synthesizer is worth its name.
Carl

That does suck! Like hearing what you have to come up with.EDGEK8D wrote:Actually, after working with it for a while, unfortunately it is unstable as an AU, and the timing of my sequencer is all over the place. In the good news department...this means you're not limited to Synth1 and various other free plugins.
I'm finding my time away from my hardware synths and shiny new compressors is starting to drag on me. I'd better finish this puppy quick...if only I could figure out how to synthesize a cuica...

OK, I'm in
I downloaded the synth and the 10,000 presets and have to say I'm very impressed with it.
But my time is very limited, and I certainly cant spend it surfing that msny presets so I'm going to impose an additional limitation on me to focus my efforts.
Only one bank to be used, and a half bank at that! I've gone with the Bladerunner bank, and will use that exclusively.
Got a decent beat going and worked out the underlying chords...now need to do some melody writing tonight. ....
