The song is compelling on it's own but there are some nice guitar ideas coming out. What I hear is almost like a moody tango building up, sparse at first but then getting quite intense - almost aggressive - at the climax. Beyond my capabilities I'm afraid. Good stuff though!

Nice work Ben. That guitar part opens up a lot more possibilities. I think Markleford's idea of a big orchestral stomp towards the end would interplay nicely with the guitar and rest of the song.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

Or as a totally different idea

Though I hate the sound of my wah wah!!!.. it never sounds warm and cosy like a wah wah should!

Though I think the guitars would have to be raised slowly rather than just coming in, and better reverb etc... and I think you'd want to get rid of all the fret noises and small chugs (I not sure why I played them for) in the quiet bits to make it sound more mechanical. But the idea is there and I can zip the original wavs (24bit) up for you and stick 'em on my site if you like it?

Ben
Oh yeah, I could work with this for sure.

I like! I'll do some different vocals for the end, louder...bit harder...yep yep, got somethin' in mind.:D

Let me know when I can DL?

Big thanks Ben.

Okay, just zipping them up now...
I'll PM you with the link... F**k it's a big file!!! Just under 50mb...

If that's too big then I can re-sample them to 16bit?

Ben

That'll work just fine. :)

Oh, but unfortunately, I have more bright ideas than I do time to implement them! I've already got a few promises on my list that I have to fill before I'd get around to this. Sounds like Glooper's doing right by you already, anyway! ;)

Oh shit there's two....didn't see that one.

Checking it out now.

Maybe we'll have multiple versions. 8)

Ahhh OK....that's where that funky goes, I was wondering bout that one. I liked it a lot, I think I'll make another version built around that.....Me digs, I also thought wah wah would be cool. Gonna do the vocals around the other one tomarrow....then play with the funky.

CheerZ!

What a great ending.:D

indefinate (funky G B) = Funky Guitar Ben

Listening to the Funky GB one, and what I am missing after two mins, is how the cello seems to slowly disappear, rather then build further on. The idea earlier of an oboe in there in the second half to make this tune build and build frantically to end in a huge bang is what somehow is happening between both my ears.

Haunting and very gripping 8)

Nice... sounds better this morning with fresh ears (i kinda of did it as an aside last night, as I was unsure about it)... Though I still don't like the sound of my Wah-wah (it distorts with the higher pitch stuff)

I'm now hearing a few wah-wah variations in my head now. I should have recorded more last night!!... hmmmm... not going to get time to do anymore now though until next week though...:(

Nice sound you have on the guitar their too... What VST/EQ have you used?

Just some FL Reeverb on the guitar track and FL Compressor on the master.

I have some simple ideas to help the build up a bit more. 8) I stayed up half the night listening to this, I love that guitar.

Take er easy Ben.
