It comes with issue #103 which should be available in the online shop soon. As a subscriber I already got it via mail delivery two days ago.

well blessings be upon you and all who wish to know the greatest DAW can now get it as magware. Now if we can get them to create a vault and at least empower us no German speaking peeps to read it in English or at least use google translate then we would have that magazine properly functioning.

Those who buy the mag, get a code which is redeemed at this page, there you can see more specs on what is included and what not: http://www.cakewalk.com/redeem/promo/?src=SONARX3LEJace-BeOS wrote:What limitations are there?
Big plus is that the Studio Instrument collection is included, that costs money to buy as standalone.

I just got a email from Cakewalk telling me they are having a discount sale on Sonar X3 upgrades. It seems I can get the X3 Producer upgrade for only $99 wich makes it a good deal in my eyes so I'm buying it. I love Sonar's lay-out, workflow and feature set and how Cakewalk was the first company to do a lot of things for the DAW back in the days (hope they return to that ambitious development).
I do have a question. Is Reason rewired into Sonar X3 working properly? I have X2 and Reason V3 and get random crashes when rewired (It could also be T-racks combined with those two, I'm not sure yet). If someone is having no problem with Reason rewired into the latest Sonar X3 it would be helpfull to know.

T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

I had Reason 7.1 rewired with Sonar X3 Studio. Both were 64bit and I didn't have any problem. So, I think in your case it is better to use X3 32bit with Reason 3 (I never use a bridge! The 32bit plugins are separated from the 64bit plugins and two versions of the DAW installed 32bit and 64bit). I really don't have stability or sound problems with rewired soft in Windows 8.1. I keep also my plugins folders slimsounddesigner wrote:Is Reason rewired into Sonar X3 working properly? Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I have been using Sonar in general for over a decade, and X3 since it came out. Everything is basically working fine, but there are surely some nasty bugs!
Here's possible deal-breaker! I just bought Zebra2 (yea!), and now find I can't type in the patch info dialog box, like when saving and renaming a patch. And if you try, you just activate the "bound" DAW keyboard shortcuts, even though they have been unbound and/or set to "do nothing", and the keystroke control / focus has been given to the plugin. It's just annoying as hell and after many hours of adventure with scores of various settings - I've run out of ideas to try!
I've been searching for a fix, or at least a realistic workaround, but I can only find similar complaints - no real answers! And I tried reading through this whole thread, but it's a bit of a drawn-out beast! Evidently this situation has existed since X1
Seems like 2 separate but related issues working in tandem to prevent the plugin typing process. If turning the key-binding off really worked, the you wouldn't need the Give Plugin Keystroke Control. And if the Keystroke Control really worked, the you could leave the bindings as they are, and as they have always worked before! But together - you're just screwed.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone is aware of a fix or functional workaround for this keystroke focus / key-binding fiasco? Surely this bug isn't just drifting through time...
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

SciFiArtMan,
Have you posted this at the CW Sonar forum? That's your best bet. (I'm there almost daily and don't recall seeing this question. A search doesn't seem to bring it up either). Can you provide a link, or better yet, bump it?
Its rare that a problem gets "lost in the shuffle", but it can happen.

There has been various issues with Sonar and OnTop-settings over the years.
Sometimes popup dialogs come beind Sonar main window and all kinds of things with automatic pluginscans at startup etc.
Longshot would be to turn off anything regarding this on any window(main as views, plugins etc).
When windows are forced on top, things happend with keyboard focus stuff.
You place in in a field to edit, and off it goes somewhere else.

I just seem to see that with U-he plugins, I cannot think of any other developer with that issue. Native Instruments and Arturia get keystrokes fine here, as well as Fab Filter and iZotope, to name just a few. My workaround with Zebra is just clicking the VST preset field in the Sonar X3 window that holds Zebra interface to rename it there, type the new name (no problem there, it is a Sonar window), select the newly typed name with the mouse, copy it, click save in Zebra and paste the name in the window that pops up using the right click menu. No need to use that specific field, or to open a text editor, any text field within Sonar will work for this. If you need more text space for the description fields within Zebra, you can do the same using the info field of any track, and copy and paste it the same way.
Other choice is just save the preset as .fxb using the Sonar VST menu like with any standard VST plugin.
It is no biggie, really.
