FilterCrusher is a dual filter tube preamp developed by Audio Assault and released as a free download on Bedroom Producers Blog. The plugin is available in 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU plugin format for Windows and Mac.
Based on the same tube modeling algorithms using in Audio Assault's commercial Grind Machine virtual guitar amplifier. FilterCrusher can be used for subtle tube-style saturation effects, as well as heavy distortion when operating in CRUSH mode.
Completely free to download and use, no sign-up required.

Thanks for the kind words guys! And a huge thank you to Audio Assault for their fantastic work on this plugin.

I also prefer smaller GUIs, however I've noticed that people often complain about the knobs being too small in other plugins. That's why FilterCrusher has these XXL knobs.U-o wrote:Knobs/GUI is maybe too big for me (there is a lot of free space), but great for free plugin.

Well, the first time I've heard it, it was obvious that this is not your "regular" HP/LP.bpblog wrote:Cheers!Fleer wrote:+1sinkmusic wrote:It looks very good !

Started to crank the HP and there was a point, roughly at 10o'c that sounded like a massive resonance hike.
Same happened with LP : cutting it down made the sound, at some point, BRIGHTER (which is counter intuitive to what LP should do).
I loaded the plug into Budde analyser and understood why it happened (and made a preset which is more of a "bread and butter" HP/LP).
The "crush" button gave me a distortion I'm not comfortable with. will give it another go.
Nice one, boys !

Thanks for the comments!
My advice for the "crush" mode is to use it for parallel processing. It is a bit "over the top", however it can add some great character to drums if you mix in 10 -20% of the processed signal with the dry signal.
I know what you mean about the filters, too. Definitely not bread and butter HP and LP. The character of the filters changes A LOT in relation to how much resonance is added. I have to say that this was all done by Audio Assault and I was really impressed by the sound of the filters.

And you sir are an officer and a gentleman, thanks for the video! Really shows well how the resonance affects the character of the filters.
