No updates or news on QuikQuak since 4th June, 2013?

Of course he's alive. QuikQuak news updates are not frequent. The last Glass Viper Windows build is from 2013-11-11. It has the same version number (1.40) as the one from 2012-01-19, but the dll is actually different, probably made with a newer compiler and/or with other performance improvements or something else that wouldn't normally be noticed.

It's completely unique, the idea is that you create a waveform and then you can define four (I think it's four) points on the wave which will move up and down with their own independant LFO's. A bit like Zebra with the moving nodes and spline curves, but in Glass Viper the curves are more "bendy" and the nodes can only move up and down. It can produce very organic sounds.

Wow i just listened to a few demos of this Glass Viper, and wow! I'm impressed with the sound of this thing for pad sounds.

Head over to the http://www.luftrum.com/ website and check out his audio demo for his glass viper presets. They are very well done!

How is the CPU usage on this thing?

One of the things that caught my eye about the Wavestation back at the start of the 90's (when it was far outside my financial setting to aquire one) was that Orbital described it as perfect for "one finger soundtracks"

It's very different in principle compared to Wavestation. I mean "evolving" can mean any sound with multiple layers and long-ish attack times.

Very simple concept, limited modulation options but what it does is unique and can sound absolutely great!
