The demo is easy to check out on PC, download a zip file, unpack dll, and load up with SAVI host ;)

First impression, GUI is small....

However the window allows for direct interaction, shaping of curves with x/y plotting for example. That was a positive surprise, I thought it was only to show the waveforms.

I think it is more the name the dev has given himself: QuikQuak

It's like Biggus Diccus in Life of Brian - QuikQuak sounds like a joke name to me, and I thus expect them to make joke plugs ;)

Who cares about the name, this synth sounds amazing...

It does sound great - and actually there are 4 layers (each corresponding to a waveform), each of which has 4 multi-parameter "shapers" (and you can have multiple moving points in the waveform from each shaper). Another thing I love about this is that the lines between points don't necessarily have to be straight; if they start off curved, then they can remain curved while the points move. And you can see the waveforms in motion!

Really does sound great, its architecture is new and unique, modest CPU usage, but I agree that the demo is pretty obnoxious.

Any chance the GUI could be bigger. Like 2x ? :)
Gosh, beautiful synth, but cannot use. Too tiny.

It was just a digression ;)

I would love to get this plug, but a bigger GUI would be great for the hands on experience

Not perfect but I don't really have a problem with the size, and the sound is amazing. Lots of room for updates but I would not hold my breath

It shorta goes againts my rules to pick up a synth:
- not one-page interface
- not simple
- no big mouse tagets (pots, buttons)

Still, I'm seriously tempted.

No architecture on the manual.
Is this a filter per voice?

You don't really need filters with oscillators this complex.

Much easier to draw the wave compared to think about what sync, ring etc will do to it.

Also, any easy way to bypass effects with a single button ? :)

Love that bank. It's awesome. To bad it holds "only" 64 patches. :D
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I just contacted the developer to see if he could dedicate the resources to make the interface bigger. I would hope if we organized a KVR group buy we could motivate him into bringing the interface to 2015 sizes :)

Not a one-page synth. Everything has a hidden env, so impossible to study what's going on just looking at the screen without clicking on 'tabs' (well, viper eyes in this case). Which goes against my basic rules to dedicate time to learning a synth :), but still feel very compelled to.

One filter per oscillator, which puts it in a category of its own with say Diversion and Elipsis. Cpu hit is tiny compared to those, which leads me to believe that the filters are designed with 90s CPUs in mind (like it is designed with 90s screen resolutions in mind :) )
