This is one compressor I didn't even know I had! Cool!asksol wrote:

Will we have a thread for EQs as well?
Which compressor do you actually use?

- TDR Feedback Compressor II mono & sterero (mostly everytime and everywhere: single, bus, master) - the most versatile compressor in my arsenal and the one I know the best (though it took me some time to understand it fully)
- IKM Red Opto & Classic Comp & 670 - when I am in the mood for something else than TDRFCII
- Mould_R - betatesting TDs new Compressor and making my mind up about the final gui - still very early but promising
Cheers

The most? IK 670, Buss Compressor, or Precision Compress o r Limiter will be used to compress the final mix usually. Toss up between 670 and Bus Comp for most used in plug land. It eventually sees an Avalon 747sp, so technica that would be most used.
For track compression hmmmm.... Distressor, Klark Teknik DN500, DBX 160X. In plug land, maybe either Black 76 , White 2A or the comps in IK White and British Channel. Non IK maybe VC160 sees the most work.
I just got DC8C, and will mess with it soon. ReaComp might be a good go to compressor for general duties.

I am demoing the VC 160 right now. Did not know you can run it without Guitar Rig until yesterday.jrides wrote:The most? Depends. I'm not the worlds greatest expert on comps but I like the IK black, supercharger GT (especially for a color comp) and the NI bus comp. I also like the NI 160 comp for bass guitar, and mpressor for squeezing life from poorer sounding drums. I also like the "glue" that is included in live.

Cytomic The Glue .... I feel I'm not good at using compressors . I like the glue a whole lot on the 2 buss or master bus .
I like the reaplugs compressor its easy to use.
Audio Damage Ruff rider is fun for squashing drum loops and samples . (as an effect)
Most of the time its just " The Glue " and small eq tweaks on tracks to get it all to fit .
