I really don't see the web that way. To me it's more like busking in Pitt St - there are so many people going by who just don't give a shit it becomes a waste of effort. If I were doing for anyone but myself I would have given it away years ago and the web would certainly not have changed that. Given that it is unlikely that I will be able to change the way people see themselves and their society, I really couldn't give a rat's arse whether or not anybody else ever listened to my music beyond the fact that it allows us to continue to release CD's commercially. Although, given how little money I need to spend on equipment these days I could easily afford to press my own CD's if I needed to but again, because I don't care if anyone listens to it the bulk of the CD's would probably end up in a box next to the majority of the last independant pressing in 1996. I am completely reliant on other people caring enough to get it out there.

No. What I was saying is that, in the end, I don't have any ambition. As long as I'm happy with the finished product that's all that matters. I really enjoy playing live but I don't care if no-one shows up - its just a chance to hear my music really, really loud. I rely almost completely on the enthusiasm of others to get anything out for people to listen to. It has never mattered to me. We're playing a few live shows at the mo' because people have asked us. It's been 3 years or more since I've actively sought venues for a show and if our label/manager hadn't hassled us endlessly we probably wouldn't be anywhere near finishing our first album. Which was my initial advice - find someone else to be enthusiastic about your exposure so you can concentrate on the important business of making music.
