I'm really into that bass sound. It may not be a perfect 303 but it's very acidic and powerful.

wasn't this supposed to be able to drag n drop samples into the slicer?

drag n drop works in live9 and reaper, doesn't work in bitwig

btw if you take a loop that is not exactly at song tempo it won't work i guess. If anybody could prove me wrong i will be very happy!

afaik the loop cutting works by transients rather than tempo, so it will just move along the loop, looking for 16 transients that meet the threshold set by "sensitivity". Upping this means you'll get more "hits" and could use up all 16 slots before the end of the wave is reached.

Takes a bit of fiddling around with.

IMO no replacement for a good sampler and programming skills, but it's a great addition to this little package for coming up with random, off-the-wall ideas.

yeah but shouldnt it first adjust loop tempo to project tempo before slicing?

I can't find this one at all over JRR, I find every other Sugar Byte and many of them at half price, but I don't see this one. :-\

Edit: Got their newsletter which had a link

i just demo'ed Egoist and it seems very nice, i loaded a paino loop and had a simple 125bpm house pattern programmed in my daw, the melody was suddenly dub/chordy slapped with a delay and sounded nice, i like the randomization, the autochopping but im missing more flexibiliy like stretching single slices, adding manual slice markers afterwards etc. any tips which might fit my needs? i dont think Egoist can do it from what i saw so far,

also is there anything like EGOIST? an alternative you like more?

I dig the Copy Protection scheme that Sugar Bytes uses too, you get a serial number and that's all you need to enter when installing it, no intrusive PACE or internet connection needed :tu:

strange thing is egoist doesnt play the sample 4 (in pic) till the end of the midi note but cuts it before the beat ends. any idea why?

Any thoughts on the debate of Egoist vs. Geist?

I have Geist and it appears that I can do almost everything Egoist does in Geist (except for the Effectrix effects).

Any thoughts?

Post

Egoist is half price until the 3rd of November.
