Yeah, you probably don't need all of that. The B-4 would be nice if you are into manipulating the drawbars though. But the B3 organs in Studiophonik sound great and sometimes a lot better than B4 just without the drawbar flexibility.

As for basses, if you are talking simply about staccato samples mapped along side sustain notes (ie. "true staccato") this is something that can be done. Studiophonik has both legato, staccato, up and down picks etc. and they can be layered in a combi and placed wherever you want across the keyboard. We'll do a bunch of combi performance patches that give you the same effect and a lot more than just that particular thing. There are also performance elements such as mutes, pops, pulls that can be separated by octaves or perhaps even triggered in other ways too that I will discuss when it is closer to release. :o

Studiophonik is like having a dedicated Bass module, dedicated Guitar module. dedicated Drum module, dedicated EP module, dedicated Grand module, dedicated Brass module and some extra keys all in one. In many cases it has more than what some of these other dedicated instruments have such as built-in effects, modeled stomp box and amp simulation, modeled tube outboard which are all apart of the SampleTank 2 engine which has more than most soundware virtual instrument engines to work with.

For violin, the Solo Strings Capsule and Ensemble Strings Capsule are excellent choices and will be out very soon.

Well, we've been working on stuff for a long time and it's nice to see it getting close to being released. There are, as you mentioned, some interesting surprises as well. I actually keep some secrets believe it or not. Well, it's because I have to really.

Anyway, Sonik Synth 2 and Studiophonik are two really exciting products for us. They can really do a lot out of one package. I like the dedicated workstation approach because you can write full tracks as soon as you get it. You're right, Sonik Synth 2 is like having an enormous room of keyboards and synths, Studiophonik is like having a live room with session player's rigs lined up for your instant use. The idea of taking those two around on a laptop is exciting.

Squids I hope you consider adding a good upright bass to Studiophonik, then it would truly be the one plug in I need for jazz.
