The Alliance of Sound tour is falling apart. (skinny puppy, vnv, haujobb, and youth code)

so the alliance of sound tour, consisting of skinny puppy, vnv nation, haujobb and youth code seems to be falling apart at the seams.
vnv has already bailed, and haujobb is on the brink of bailing.
all this when tickets went on sale months ago and the tour is scheduled to start in a couple of weeks. ass loads of people have bought tickets for this tour, booked flights, made hotel reservations, and scheduled vacation days off work. as of yet no refunds are being given (and likely wont be unless they cancel the whole thing)
no reasons were given for vnv pulling out, but their fb page made it sound like they were being cry babies about something, haujobb hasnt really said anything more than theyre having "financial" problems (and its unrelated to vnv).
soooo if you were planning on going and didnt buy your tickets yet...you probably shouldnt.

Skinny Puppy is cool, I'm not into traveling. I would like to see my old guitar teacher play in her jazz band.

Personally, I bought the tickets to see Skinny Puppy. Haujobb and Youth Code are sort of a bonus to me, and I don't actually like VNV Nation. But it's definitely a bummer for people looking forward to seeing them.
If Haujobb drops out too I wonder if they're going to start offering ticket refunds or something.

i didnt get my tkts yet...and now ill wait for confirmation that haujobb is still in before i do (unless they sold out already, i havent even checked).foosnark wrote:Personally, I bought the tickets to see Skinny Puppy. in theory, skinny puppy is the headliner...but i think in practical terms more people are going for vnv. skinny puppy hasnt been relative (or really any good imo) since last rights.
me personally i was looking forward to haujobb and vnv. ive seen sp and ive seen vnv (a bunch of times) but ive never seen haujobb ever. youth code? i dont know anything about them.
as for canceling the whole tour if haujobb bails too...maybe...maybe not...probably not. if they dont cancel the tour, i doubt theyll refund peoples tkts.
there has been talk of trying to get fla to replace vnv...while that would make me want to go again (id rather see fla over vnv or skinny puppy), i doubt it will happen. i think fla is already doing something else.
the whole situation seems like a right cock-up.

lets just roll back the clock to '92 have it be skinny puppy, nitzer ebb, fla, and 242.
now that would be a show. id love to see that pit...bunch 'o old ass f**kers like me trying for one last hurrah.
theyll need more than one bunch of paramedics for that night.

Oh, you mean those guys who scheduled and cancelled an entire tour because they couldn't get along? Yeah, not cry babies at all.Numanoid wrote:Can't they get Nitzer Ebb to fill in for the cry babies like VNV ?
VNV Nation didn't cry at all IMO, that's just some people's butt-hurt reaction to them pulling out of the tour. The fact that Haujobb is contemplating the same is more likely than not related to the reason that VNV pulled out. I mean, they're going to pull out of a tour and not get paid because they're having "financial issues"? I think it's reasonable to assume that these two are interrelated and likely associated with some sort of mismanagement of the tour.

vnv didnt cry at all? did you read their fb page? it totally sounds like theyre crying about something. they didnt give a reason for pulling out (another d-bag move on their part) so we dont know what the problem is...but it absolutely sounds like theyre crying about something stupid.cryophonik wrote:Oh, you mean those guys who scheduled and cancelled an entire tour because they couldn't get along? could i be wrong? absolutely. but everyone is getting that impression. it sounds like oghr was being a dick and making ronan "feel bad"...so hes taking his ball and going home.
as for haujobb...they didnt give much of a reason either...but they did specifically say it had nothing to do with vnv. sure they could be lying...but thats the information we have to go on.
they are also starting a crowd funding page to raise some cash to stay on the tour...making their claim of "financial problems" sound more believable.
i have an inside line on haujobb...waiting on some info from a friend to find out what the real deal is. if i get the info ill post it.

DAF could also be a possible addition, they toured as recently as 2012chaosWyrM wrote:lets just roll back the clock to '92 have it be skinny puppy, nitzer ebb, fla, and 242.

I saw it minutes after it was posted yesterday and it said nothing more than they were pulling out because it was a bad situation that show signs of getting worse and that it had nothing to do with health. Unless that's changed (I haven't read anymore since then), everything else is just speculation.chaosWyrM wrote: vnv didnt cry at all? did you read their fb page? it totally sounds like theyre crying about something.
Funny how that excuse works for Haujobb, but not VNV Nation.chaosWyrM wrote: as for haujobb...they didnt give much of a reason either...but they did specifically say it had nothing to do with vnv. sure they could be lying...but thats the information we have to go on.

speculation? yes.
but seeing as how they didnt elaborate, speculation is all we have...and it still sounds like theyre crying about something.
"a bad situation"...really? how bad can it be...its a 3 week tour. suck it up and fulfill your commitment...or give a real reason why you cant. as it stands now it sounds like "wah wah wah...i dont wanna do it".
if you dont get that impression..so be it...you dont. but most of the people reading it do get that impression...and i happen to be one of those people.

maybe if you want to quote me you should quote the whole thing...i specifically added information that shows haujobbs claim of financial problems to be the case.cryophonik wrote:I saw it minutes after it was posted yesterday and it said nothing more than they were pulling out because it was a bad situation that show signs of getting worse and that it had nothing to do with health. ...because bad situations only happen to cry babies, right? I'll just leave it at this. There are countless ways that a "bad situation" could be interpreted and, in the case of bands pulling out of tours, it could very well be problems with the contract, payment, funding, or legal issues, all of which could be legitimate reasons for a band to pull out of a tour. But, AFAIK, none of us know the reason that VNV Nation is pulling out of the tour at this point, and it's also entirely within the realm of possibility that they are pulling out because of personality conflicts, which I agree would be an immature and irresponsible thing to do to your fans. Knowing what I know about VNV and the respect they have for their fans, I am skeptical that it's that simple.Numanoid wrote:Sounds like cry babies to me, maybe they was told they had to share bathroom in the hotelscryophonik wrote:they were pulling out because it was a bad situation
