I plan to combine a redsound darkstar and a small midi controller to get an equivalent to a somewhat more expensive keyboard synthesizer.
The problem is that the darkstar isn't very huge in width (34cm) and so the keyboard must have about two octaves to fit.
May sound easy, but the keyboard mustn't be one of those USB ones, a generic MIDI out is necessary.
And since i've got some education on piano, velocity and aftertouch would be nice.

That's all. Guess it wouldn't be hard to find... :D any advice?

I use an Oxygen 8, 2 octaves and I use Midi out only, I hate USB midi and it didn't work properly after all :)
Doesn't have aftertouch though (as far as I know) ..
I think the Novation series have all you want - remote 25 was a controller only if it's still on sale, but are a lot more expensive :bang:

Roalnd PC160 is midi only and cheaper than oxygen, dont have any knobs on it tho.

Keyboard? What keyboard?

Also, the Oxygen 8 feels like a toy, and the Remote 25 does not. The Remote 25 does do USB MIDI, and works like a treat. It does have proper MIDI in/outs if you really want them. I just find the USB to be more convenient.

Overall, buying a K-Station would be cheaper :(

I think you misunderstood me...I don't need USB at all because the DarkStar doesn't have USB.
