When you hear and complain about clicks and pops when recording, what do they sound like? I'm asking this because I'm not sure if what I'm hearing is a problem. Do clicks and pops cut off and replace the audio with only their own sound or can they be part of the sound. Like if you record vocals will a click be in the vocal (mixed with), not replacing but part of? I don't know if I'm loosing it  but lately I've been recording vocals and I swear I'm hearing clicks. I listen over and over again to utter sylables and say to myself is this a click or not...
Are they obnoxius and I should have no question in my mind what I'm hearing or can they be very subtle and questionable?

This may be a stupid question but -
Lets say I record a CD and hear no clicks, is it safe to say that there will be no clicks when I record the vocals the same way? The gain is being watched and not clipping.

Do you have a USB soundcard? If so, you might want to check the Microsoft (or Apple) website and look for a USB patch. I know it's an issue with Win98 and XP. My card worked much better when I installed the patch. Also, I defragment my hard drive when I'm ready to record audio tracks.

To answer your question, I hear music with the occasional pop in the background, if it does happen.
