Just thought I'd give a heads-up to those looking for something different to check out. Been really getting into this kind of music over the last 6 months or so. It's typically around 90bpm, fusing bits of ambient and psytrance influence, along with other styles. I've put up a few YouTube links below. IMHO, this stuff is perfect to have in the background while typing up a paper or doing other menial tasks, or just chilling out before bedtime.

No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Psychill: the sound of ....... 2007 !

I love this genre, so thanks for the heads up on those mixes. I'll definitely check them out.

I actually made a chilled trance track a while ago, which is a similar kind of style:

I'm definitely familiar with Sphongle and have a few of those tunes in my playlist. I personally prefer the slower, darker, more ambient-leaning stuff, though. The trippier and darker, the better lol. Great to hear from a fellow psychill fan :).

To each their own. I wasn't even aware of it until fairly recently. BTW this isn't the first time you've posted in one of my threads just to say something negative. Do you have an issue with me personally or something?

I dig psychill, It was around 2007 it became big.

Good music doesn't have a best-by-date

You seems to be thinking people are out to get you, you need to chill out more, nothing better then than some good chill out music

No worries... He does that in other people's thread too.... But to his defence, i do not think he is being negative here... A bit cheeky maybe, but he sort of have a point....
It's not what you use, it's how you use it...

it's certainly not current but I think it's one of those genres which will carry on indefinitely simply because people still enjoy it so much and still make music like that - which is a good thing IMHO

This is another favorite of mine, Entheogenic:

Ground Zero IMO is the Ultimae label, from that many branches spread :)

Ah, cool :). Yeah, today's been a bit rough and probably a bit moody. Thanks for the heads-up. No hard feelings here.

im with you on that. shpongle is great at what they do...but i prefer psychill thats not trying so hard to be psy and instead focuses on the chill.

i was going to list some of my faves...but i really dont know too many by name. thats not to say i dont listen to it, because i do. i guess its just the nature of the music that i listen more for its intended purpose (at psytrance parties when im tired) or at home at the end of a night of debauchery as background.

i kind of just put on a streaming channel and let it go.

i tend to pay more attention to who the artists are in the dark ambient/rhythmic noise categories...though the music is actually quite similar.

heres a mix i did in that vein...not exactly "psychill" but i do find it to be both psychedelic and pretty chill...it is on the darker side of both though.

One of my favourites.

I also love the majority of stuff coming from Ultimae records more recently which generally seem to focus more on the chill than the psy. Solar Fields, AES Dana, Asura, Carbon Based Lifeforms etc..

Youth's Liquid Sound Design label released some fantastic stuff too.

It served as sort of a bridge from the ambient/techno of the 90's to the psybient/psychill of the 00's
