Doesn't matter to me if its anonymous or not.
I know my track is a bit different, not everyone's cup of tea and that's not a bad thing, if they all sounded the same it would make it even harder to vote.
I agree with all this. There is a "core" of people who submit regularly, each with their own style and production values. They like what each other do, and sometimes even collaborate across the globe - if they understand each others' music, then they most likely will vote for it - simples! That said, they also help out newcomers (I'm one!), and make valid and valuable comments which help me improve my game!bibz1st wrote:People will vote for their friends, why wouldn't they, but maybe they actually like what their friends do.

Pretty awesome of you to go out of your way to explain all of your low votes. And I agree with you 100% on your assessment of my entry. As a relative newbie to making music my sounds will almost all be utilitarian vs. the mindblowing/earcandy sound designs I've heard from a lot of the obviously more experienced people around here. But ya, in this case my composition sucked, haha it's true! I don't work very fast, so I can only do so much in a month!APZX wrote: Jlanthier - Thanks Ichiro!: Okay, I'm going to be the first to admit that the opening for this track is straight up awesome. I mean you did a lot of things right, sound design is more utilitarian with a few really interesting bits, but the thing really for me was movement in the composition. It just stayed too close to the original feeling and never really developed much IMO.

Excessional - Bladerunners: Now, what is interesting about this was really the simplicity of the sounds themselves. Something I am a huge fan of. But the kicker was actually the mixing. There is so much room in the left & right channels to use still. Also, the low end just isn't there and I love me ample low end. But seriously those bells, A+.
Same here. I've listened to a lot of the tracks off line, very very very busy month. Next month will be more chill hopefully.Caine123 wrote:still having heavy time issues atm so i am not so active but voted of course!
Wow that's great to hear!!!!!!!!!excessional wrote:Yes, I'd just like to add what a friendly and supportive community this is compared to many other internet message boards.
The overwhelming sense for a beginner like me is that the unspoken rule is to be supportive to other board members. ..if you can't say something good (or at least specific and constructive) about a track, then don't say anything at all...
I'm afraid my extremely limited sound design skills are going to defeat any attempt by me to enter this month though. After an hour of messing around with Flexoid, I haven't even managed to find the volume button!
thanks a lot bro, i try to be in for the osc 69 too if i get some more ideas, i wanna get started for some project you know very well atm more than oscbjporter wrote:Same here.
