I don`t post much,and don`t finish it when I do...but I have to ask why it seems you didn`t put much effort into this project?
Are you getting lazy Mark?

It`s just that it doesn`t hold my attention...no,i`m not ADD.hehe
I know if you chose to,you could keep it interesting.
Just wondering why you choose to keep it like this.
Iv`e gotten the impression that people here that just run loops....well,does running a seqr pattern over and over compare to just running a sample loop?

Know you could really make something more interesting if you put your mind to it.(assuming you`d want to)

This is not at all an attack,but I`ll speak my opinion in this way only to the few people here at kvr that i`m friendly with.

You've obviously not heard of Minimalist music before then? have a listen to some philip glass, or even some of Aphex twin's music. It's certainly not being lazy, music like this takes a lot a patience and thought. It's more about producing a slow journey through an idea, rather than trying to fight for your attention.

Though I admit drugs do help!..

About minimalist music...That form is not a stranger to me.
I am a fan.
I saw Glass live twice.The first time,when he introduced his "music in changing parts".
Even though it was a minimalist piece,the "changing parts" in the title speak for itself.

I ask that anyone who wants to discuss my opinions not do it in mystars thread.I`ll be happy to discuss it further if you want to PM me.

I am a firm believer in less is more. This track and the other six for this CD are all like this. Minimalistic to the bare essences.

I must disagree with you on that. This I feel is more then just run a loop as it explores the heart of the Juno60. The changes lie more in the subtleties then that it is just running a sample loop.

My personal drive is about improving and keeping tracks interesting with merely one or two instruments. And I personally think I am achieving my goals. Am I stubborn yes; a self tutoring twat I guess that just tries finding his own way through learning how to give expression to what lives inside.

And I dont feel attacked here. I have come to learn that peoples opinions are different, we all have different tastes fortunately. And I am happy they do and I most certainly am very open to different ideas, to which I am more then open.

As for this track, I do not think that it needs more instruments or more work on the track itself. This one has been created about two months ago along with 4 other tracks for the CD and they express to me my feelings about my girl. And where I may fail in being a virtuous key-player, I compensate through controlling the instrument.

To me personally this track represents a moment of deep emotions which I felt impelled to create back then. Thank you though for the honesty of your comment, for I do listen to your opinions; I just do not fully agree here.

And thank you Ben for your words there too; there was some green involved here, but that is as far as it goes.

i think the bassline is excellent, although i may have been tempted to run a second arp against this for a little more variation at about the 3-5 min mark.

listened to it again and i think vurts right, i'm pretty sure you are overdriving the bassline a little.

i think the little percussive noises and bits of pads in the background are excellent and the feel of the track as it slows down and speeds back up again keep my brain occupied

edit: the more i listen the more i realise i was probably wrong about the second arp as the second half of the tune the juno is being messed with a lot more. when it all goes "big" at 8.00 ish

also, sounnds much better than the original in terms of sound quality.

Yeah I still need to re-record this track and keep it just under.

also, sounds much better than the original in terms of sound quality.

Still learning how to tweak the FX here, but mainly trusting in my ears here.

it's "addictive" this tune..... and i've got rizlas again now

how do you deal with the slow down/speed up element ? is it just played like that or are you changing the tempo in your host ?

There is no host involved, except for the Dreampad Vsti but that is running a continual two note chord. The rest is done on the Juno60 which changes tempo's manually

There is no real bpm involved here

cool, im remixing a tune of bluedads at the moment and for the first time ever i have turned tempo sync off on my delays and am recording without a metronome. i like the idea of changing tempo and will have to try it out.

this is good inspiration

I have no idea where I found the dreampad vsti, but anyhow its a one-patch pad machine, without a GUI and only 6 buttons (cutoff/res/attack/release/chorus on-off/gain)
