Cakewalk's Z3TA+2 was the first (I believe). Our last plug-in, G8 Dynamic Gate, is up, too. WaveDNA also has the awesome Liquid Rhythm up on Steam, which has a Max4Live component. There are a few Sonar plug-ins up there as well.kingtubby wrote:Is this the first vst plugin made available on steam?thelizard wrote:If anyone activates Sandman on Steam, we would really appreciate it if you left a review!

ah, ok - thanks. I bought Sandman from your site earlier and subsequently got the Steam key just to see how Steam handled the installation process. It's an excellent delay plug imo, and I like the UI just the way it is. I already have u-he mfm2 and when it comes to delays I always ask myself whether I can replicate in that plugin first. In this case I don't think I could...thelizard wrote:Cakewalk's Z3TA+2 was the first (I believe). Our last plug-in, G8 Dynamic Gate, is up, too. Cool, thanks! What do you think of the Steam installation process? On Windows, it symlinks the plug-in so that it's always up-to-date without needing to run an installer. On OS X, it runs the regular installer due to permission issues on older versions of OS X. It at least reports when the installed version is out of date. As a plug-in user, I'm hoping more make it onto Steam since it makes installation a lot less annoying. It's inconvenient whenever I set up new computer, as each company has a different process.kingtubby wrote:ah, ok - thanks. MFM2 is the bomb. That definitely affected the design process. I have a similar thought when I buy new delays, as usually MFM2 can do nearly everything.

I should have said that I had already installed using the windows installer. I just followed the Steam process up to the point of actual installation and it was straight forward and pretty much similar to what I'm accustomed to with windows. I was just curious as to how it would work within Steam and it seems like a viable alternative.

For the people waiting for the demo version: it's now compiled and tested to be working on Windows. I have to test it on OS X and wrap it up in an installer. It will be posted tonight.

Yes we have really fun plans for a number of plugins all costing less than $299.thelizard wrote:
We have a lot of cool things in the works. Right now, they are mainly smaller plug-ins like Sandman. If we can dedicate ourselves to this on a more full-time basis, we have some really fun plans for that.
Thanks for the good vibes everyone. Sound demos, suggestions, and requests are always welcome.

it's really cool, but acting buggy as hell on Logic 9 running in Mavericks. i can't hit the space bar to return to the beginning of the track, the knobs on Sandman and the drop downs for the LFOs won't turn while the plug is running, and if i turn up the feedback it makes Logic completely unresponsive. I had to force quit. tried it again and same thing. took the plug out of the channel strip and Logic worked perfectly again.
I tried a couple of the presets out and the more intensive ones also froze everything up. A friend just bought it as well, so I'll see if he's having any problems.

That's very unusual. We got a similar report from a Mavericks user with Logic Pro X. They're using a 2007 Macbook Pro with a Core 2 Duo processor.michael2 wrote:it's really cool, but acting buggy as hell on Logic 9 running in Mavericks. i can't hit the space bar to return to the beginning of the track, the knobs on Sandman and the drop downs for the LFOs won't turn while the plug is running, and if i turn up the feedback it makes Logic completely unresponsive. Is it occurring in other hosts or is it only Logic? Also, does this happen with the interface closed, or only when open?
I haven't heard back from the other customer. If you can shoot us an e-mail at contact [at] unfilteredaudio, that will help for our records.
In the meantime, if anyone else experiences the same problem, please e-mail us! I'll check to see if there's some weird optimization incompatibility on older processors.
