i've met him a couple of times and if you happen to mention you even vaguely like anything he has ever done he sits down and you can't shut him up for the next 1/2 hour.

What??? 8 pages of posts and nobody's mentioned Lisa Gerrard? Her solo track "Waves become Wings" on the first This Mortal Coil album is so powerful it actually affects me on a genetic level.

Oh, and while we're at it, Liz Fraser and Robin Guthrie's version of Tim Buckley's "Song to the Siren" is on the very same album...

...christ, I'm welling up just writing about these songs...
