Which host quantizes audio & MIDI to the smallest values

What up all?,
I'm wondering which host application will quantize audio and MIDI information to the smallest note values. I use Cubase SX 2 and it will quantize information to 128th notes. I'm wondering what all the other host apps or trackers etc will quantize information to. Please let me know.

I'm sure Tracktion will quantize to the qauntam level, with the corollary that by observing the quanize, it's wrong, wavefunction collapse and all that malarky. Comes with the 'paradigm'
Why do you ask so? Pray do tell.

thanks for the info about tracktion...i'll see if i can get a demo...the reason i ask is because i want to do granular effects by stuttering audio and/or midi information

Did you just get back form the pub by any chance.donkey tugger wrote:I'm sure Tracktion will quantize to the qauntam level, with the corollary that by observing the quanize, it's wrong, wavefunction collapse and all that malarky. Comes with the 'paradigm'

I just thought the man should know, that was all.
Granular thynethys? Where's the pop?

I think he was being sarcastic.Sho Geist wrote:thanks for the info about tracktion...
Tracktion's quantize is not that dissimilar to and other host (though Tracktion is a little unsual, or quirk depending on your POV, in that the quantize level is a function of your current zoom resolution).

Tracktion actually can be pretty good at this kind of thing, especially for audio. There are some good plugins that you can use to achieve glitchy/granular style effects in most hosts though.the reason i ask is because i want to do granular effects by stuttering audio and/or midi information
I haven't been using it much of late, but I'm sure Fruity could probably offer a few unsual and cool tricks too.

I think it's what they used to run lamps on. It's where the term "bright idea" came from, cos a lamp represented a new paradifm, or something.vurt wrote:vurt wrote:yeah like paradifms are a normal topic of conversation down donks local

thinking on it, you can power a lamp off of horse shit, which is what I'm talking, so maybe there's no connection after all...
Did someone mention Tracktion BTW?

I'm sure you can!valley wrote:thinking on it, you can power a lamp off of horse shit, which is what I'm talking, so maybe there's no connection after all...

Incidentally (hmmm, may be wrong), I was reading another one of those 'popular guides (sic) to quantum physics, a la 'brief history of time' by that Steve Hawking. This one was 'the arrow of time', not bad. It suddenly struck me though, as yer main man wanted super daft quantize stuff.
And...is it pop to do so?

If you have any MFX-capable host (like your SX), you can use my TenCrazy.com MFX Autothrob plugin. Right now it will go to 128th notes, but if you're that f**king crazy I can give you a version that tweaks to one MIDI tick!Sho Geist wrote:any recommendations other than tracktion for really small quantization values?
