a 15bucks delay - are you kidding me? Never heard of anything more ridiculous.
Safe to say Elton John won't call any of you guys anytime soon.![]()

perhaps we can persuade these guys to let us pay what we want. i've got sir elton booked for the whole of next month, and need a delay that costs at least $299 (i'd pay more, just to be even more professional-er)
Sandman - yet another cool new delay that doesn't cost $299

Yep! So far it's been an incredible response, at least compared to G8. It's definitely been a bit of an experiment, so I'm hoping that this sort of pricing model can be sustainable for us.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:is 19.99 the full, non-sale price ??thelizard wrote:You can! Congrats! You certainly have talent here, so hope you can continue doing this!thelizard wrote:
Thanks! This means a lot to me. Transverb and Buffer Override were among my first plug-ins, and they really sent me down my current path. I've been wanting to make plug-ins since then, so this is pretty much a dream job for me![]()
To me limitations are better for creativity since it forces you to do well with what you have[0],thelizard wrote: We have a lot of cool things in the works. Right now, they are mainly smaller plug-ins like Sandman. If we can dedicate ourselves to this on a more full-time basis, we have some really fun plans for that.
so my preference is lots of simple tools, rather than a few complicated tools having lots of features.
I wouldn't describe Sandman as "small", just as I wouldn't describe Soundtoys Radiator as small, or
too expensive. Really it's priced too low which justified purchasing the G8 gate without a demo.
That would be amazing, his book "Microsound" changed my life and I would love to explore his software. Are these tools open source?thelizard wrote: Right now, the current plan (if we get to do this full-time) is to port Curtis Roads's old OS 9 granulation software like Pulsar Generator to the modern plug-in formats, along with a lot of cool research that just doesn't exist in plug-in format, really.
[0] Sadly I have lots and lots of these simple tools, so the current strategy is to restrict myself to a specific list of tools before I start the session

Sandman 1.0.2 Beta has just been posted to all user accounts. The 32-bit installers were failing to install MSVC. That should now be fixed. If you have the demo version, you can download the new installer from here:zeep wrote:This plugin doesn't show up. Live 9 and 8 tested. Moved the dll around a bit too, no show.
Don't tell me i have to install yet more msvc

I appreciate the kind words, and thank you for purchasing G8!asksol wrote:That would be amazing, his book "Microsound" changed my life and I would love to explore his software. Microsound is an amazing book. I bought The Computer Music Tutorial in eighth grade, thinking it was some sort of manual that would show me how to use Fruity Loops better
He is an absolute perfectionist. He spends years on each composition, and uses next to no plug-ins. When he told me that he wanted to endorse G8, it was definitely a
All of his OS 9 stuff is closed source. Pulsar Generator is a blend of Supercollider 2 code and a lot of C++ code for custom opcodes. He's already given me the source code. The main hurdle is all of the custom GUI elements, since the main focus of Pulsar Generator is drawing repeatable envelopes. The DSP portion isn't as bad. We already have a working Pulsar synthesis class.
Our next plug-in is already about 50-60% done, along with our next Rack Extension. I was working on this next plug-in before Sandman. Sandman just sort of took over. The next plug-in is super cool. It's a pretty aggressive effect based on some ideas from the Buchla modular synthesizer. The next Rack Extension is Josh's original research, and is an effect that hasn't been done before. Unfortunately, it's a very modular effect that requires a lot of outputs, so we're not planning a VST/AU release of that one quite yet. In the meantime, though, the G8 1.1 update is almost here, and I'm working hard at adding a kill switch to Sandman.
