Does anyone here know whether this one is worth its price?

$99 dollars without 64 bit support, is too much

nuVibrations LLC just officially released nuSpin - there is a free version available at http://nuvibrations.com/freeinstrument that allows you to play and control all the stock sounds, as well as use the add-on sound libraries that we will be producing. Please give it a try! I will be producing some walk-through videos in the coming weeks to help demonstrate the unique features in nuSpin.

64-bit support is definitely on our radar, and something that is relatively easy to achieve. We are also considering VST 3.6, MacOS Support, and even an iPad app. I would love to hear your thoughts on what is most needed.

And if you would like to stay up to date on upcoming releases, you can sign up for our e-mail list at:

I'll definitely wait for 64-bit support (I'm all 64-bit now) as well as videos and/or demo tracks before spending any money on this, just so I know what new features nuSpin has to offer and whether I really need it.

I can't see anything new that this plug offers.

The feature hightlighted on the webpage is that it can generate sound from images.

But that is something that for example Harmor already does well: http://www.image-line.com/support/FLHel ... Harmor.htm

That's because I haven't posted the videos yet :)

What nuSpin offers is a fresh approach to image-sound conversion. Existing software generally interprets image data as a series of harmonic intensities that are basically run through an inverse FFT to produce audio. nuSpin applies a kind of wave-terrain synthesis technique to do the conversion. In nuSpin, you create an "orbit" that scans a slice of the image to produce a waveform, turning bright areas into positive sound pressure and dark areas into negative pressure. Orbits can be key framed to produce evolving textures. You can then modulate which part of that texture is played in a variety of ways with nuSpin's flexible modulation architecture.

Once you have created a key framed orbit, there are also key-framed tools to manipulate the harmonic content of the image. You can also load WAV files, which are converted to images, and re-synthesize them by editing the orbit and manipulating harmonics.

I will be working on putting the first videos up tonight so you can see how it works! For an in-depth explanation of the process, you can also read the documentation included in the free version of the product: https://www.nuvibrations.com/freeinstrument

I think if I would offer any developers advice now it would be to go 64-bit. For a while I thought about bridging 32-bit plugs, but to be honest it just seems like a technology of the past now.

No sound demos either for the synth or the add-on is a no go.

You are correct. I am working on some sound demos. I had planned to have a soft-release for the product where I would have time to produce demos and videos for the next week, but then the news quickly spread to KVR! So I will accelerate my release schedule.

Man, it's completely messy!
I downloaded the free player and install it. OK
Received the serial on my e-mail. OK
But to authorize I need to log in in my "account". BUT there's no account! No "create a new account" option in the web site!!!

alvfaria,

you are right I just have awarded them the prize for the "most complicated and email traffic producing" VST installation of all time ! I have gone threw the same process, they maybe should have called it "the installation riddle".

Solution (support works I get an answer soon): when after first opening the installed vst the authorisation box opens theres is a small link in the upper right corner where you can go to create an account, emails again, hours later.....And be warned: I have found nothing spectacular in the about 20 preset coming with the installation (dont no for wahat this takes about 500 mb to download).

By the way: you have to load these 20 presets one by one before you can use them....

But maybe there are some more riddles and behind them.....ther great treasure waits.

Sorry nuVibrations, maybe it is owed to the hard-release instead of your planned soft-release, but In my opinion this installation process is really an imposition. You really plan to sell this for 99 € ??????

Kind regards,

Richard
