ras.s wrote:I think this is a mighty nice synthesizer. In particular, I like the envelope mode switch, the buttons for oscillators, intervals and multi voice and the equalizer, which makes it easy to tone the voice. Extra bonus are the ADSR/AD switches and the good manual.

Very well done, and feels quite in line with rest of Full Bucket goodness, top notch quality. Thanks for giving it for free. I think perhaps you should consider making a commercial version (though cheap for poor folks like myself) with more modulation options and the ability to change the skin for those who need that. It's very good as it is already, though. Few things I've noticed are that the tooltips don't show in EnergyXT and that there can be stuck notes when changing patches.

Here's a bank of few patches I've cooked up so far: https://app.box.com/s/hhhpq8ltvto6z313w8cv
Thanks so much for your comments. And especially for mentioning the manual, as many people won't even bother to look at it :D

There won't be a commercial version, but we are already planning and brainstorming for V2. That will have 'something' towards selecting skins, but Björn and I are discussing how to go about that. V2 will also have some new options, velocity sensitivity of certain parameters is high on the list ;)

Will have a listen to your patches 8)

albertodream - TheForce - great sound nice and solid. Poly800 is also a good one. :tu:
ras.s - Ragnarok bass & Chamber organ my faves (chamber organ very much like the doors) :tu:
DrewDale - Click Pad is really punchy & Monotron Duo - Is highly realistic :tu:

I could only locate DrewDale patches on the KVR patches thread, perhaps albertodream & ras.s also upload their patches on there too so they don't get lost in the thread ;)

Thanks for the shares, great work guys

Very impressive on 70' Progressive Rock style songs...

Ragna Rocks!!! :tu:

Of course - the long waited was worth it....a very impressive and good synth....
btw. - the original GUI is good, but I prefer the "Redskin" too.... so I´ve made
a bank of some (16) patches in the manner of Ragnarok in 80´s and retro-style....
Patches they also could be made with the original hardware of "Ragnarok"...
have fun....
Here they are...
for sure there will be more....

best regards

Thanks for the compliments guys :D

Keep the patches coming, great work. Please upload the patchbanks to the Ragnarök product page here on KVR as well, so we will create a nice repository for everyone to find easily ;)

I added a new links section to my new synth site (link in my siggy) and added a link to Ragnarok. Great stuff this one CW. :tu:
I'm going to write a review on it next week. That will be my first synth review for the new site.

Important message !!!!!

We decided that the next update will be capable of loading external graphic files (via the INI-file), so that it will be no longer needed to resshack the DLL. You can also pretty easy switch to another image set by simply editing the INI-file.

But, and this is important, the next update will also have a slightly rearranged GUI, meaning that current GUI graphics (meaning the background) will not match the GUI in the upcoming update. Therefore it is advised to wait with creating new GUI graphics as you will need to redo them after the update. Of course, it is up to you to decide if you want to do the work twice ;)

For this update, Björn needs to do some code refactoring. Also, the manual needs some serious work to reflect the GUI-changes. We try hard to get the next update out within the next few weeks, maybe sooner but we can't make any promises :D

Hey Dave, thanks so far and I'm really looking forward to your review. There's also already a short review here on the product page on KVR, and Bedroom Producers Blog did a small article on the release.

Be assured that I'm following your blog 8)

Also, FYI, you requested a 'certain' GUI for the synth, that one is in the planning (some other users asked for that as well) ;)

I'm tempted to read those reviews now but not sure whether it would be better to wait until I've written mine. That way, I'll know my content is completely original and uninfluenced by other opinions.

VERY cool! That option seems logical to me and further honours the original inspiration. I look forward to seeing it. :tu:

Why did you not give it the looks of the original if I may ask?

Odd that the internal patch manager doesn't work as soon as the DAW has one of its own. With my SE synths both work at the same time.

Anyway, made a little DX bass patch 8) FXP file here:

Björn, I was just taking a look around the other sections of your site and reading up on your other synths and discovered your music. I must say, the tracks I've listened to so far are RIGHT up my alley! Very inspiring stuff! 8)

I've listened to these so far:

Bump
Detour 1 & 2
Eclipse
Obstacle
Scroo
Deputy

Deputy has just finished playing and I heard elements that strongly remind me of four groups/artists who have shaped my own journey over the years. I'll list their initials and no doubt you'll know who I am talking about (in case any of these initials are not obvious, perhaps a little obscured by clouds, the nationalities are: French, Japanese, British and German not necessarily in that order)....

TD
IT
PF
JMJ

Great music Björn. Me likey a LOT! :phones: :tu:

I tried two of his other synths some time ago, but there was some problem with the GUI. When I clicked on a control and didn't release the mouse button fast enough, there was weird interaction with the GUI of my DAW.
With this new one that is not the case :)

In another DAW, Mulab, the value readouts of this new synth are not displayed.
