Thanks for all the great work!
+1 :tu:

Edit: this would be nice, but I'm pretty thrilled with the current feature set :tu:

Wasn't expecting more features I like the Lag and parallel setting just what I wanted fantastic :) Thanks Andy.

For right now, I am not sure if I understand what beat2 or beat3 is, I tried to use it but that didn't clarify it for me.

Firstly you mean beats, not bars or units correct?
And from the manual I thought it meant that lfo2 should retrigger ever other beat in beat2, or every third beat (beat3), but I don't think that was what it was doing on my end, or does it depend on the rate? That is if you have it on 1/2 note, beat 2, retriggers every whole note and and beat3 should retrigger every dotted wholenote so to speak?
Is this any better?

"Sets which source will re-trigger the LFO back to the starting phase. BEAT 2 and BEAT 3 automatically re-trigger the LFO based on song position - the current rate is quantized to the nearest power of 2 of a beat (including negative powers), then the LFO is re-triggered every x2 or x3 of this time, which allows for swing timing or dotted timing respectively eg: if the current RATE is 1/4 note then with BEAT 2 every 1/4 x2 = 1/2 note the LFO will re-trigger, with BEAT 3 every 1/4 x3 = 3/4 note the LFO will re-trigger"

zvenx wrote:Also I am still very confused by the cutoff section. I think I understand what each does, shift, spread, but when glide is there it throws me completely off....is glide the time it is suppose to take to deviate from say the set low and hi frequency values to the shift value?
Glide smooths changes to the cutoff frequency of the HP and LP filters coming from the knobs or possibly key track. The cutoff can be changed by the LP FREQ, HP FREQ, SHIFT, and SPREAD knobs

Over the next few weeks I'm putting some tutorial videos together, which will cover all the basic operations of The Drop.

I assume that should say

Well spotted thanks! Will be fixed in for the next upload.

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't want to add envelope curve. The envelopes are analog modelled envelope followers that have a very particular sound I think works well for the plugin, they are based on the Moog Taurus envelopes. If you want to you can adjust the curve of LFO 2 and put it in ONCE mode to use it as a regular synth type envelope, which you can then vary the LEVEL of via ENV 1 or ENV 2.

For a synth product I will have more advanced ADSR envelopes with curve, but that isn't suitable for The Drop since it is an effect plugin that has to be able to operate properly without MIDI triggering, and the current AHR analog modelled envelope followers are best for this purpose.

You're welcome! Having a LAG mode is super useful, and so is Parallel so I just had to add them :)

NEWS: The Drop v1.0.8 is ready for download! There was a bug where loading presets would not clear the current Routing settings back to Serial, all fixed in this version. Also the stability of the plugin has been proven now for many weeks, so I've removed the Beta tag, this is now proved to be production ready :tu:

The Drop v1.0.8 (22 Nov 2014) - http://www.cytomic.com/drop
  • New: Parallel and Serial processing, previously only Serial
  • New: Smoothing of Shift and Spread knobs with Glide, addition of Step button to bypass this smoothing
  • New: Mouse wheel support for changing Hp/Lp Circuit, Lfo2 Pattern, and Lfo2 Steps
  • New: Updated Manual
  • Fixed: Fixed: Loading presets now defaults Routing to Serial and Step ShSp to off so that Factory presets load as expected
  • Fixed: AU version not recalling parameters correctly (most evident in Live)
  • Fixed: Level controls for LFO1/2 now work properly once Env1/2 finish
  • Fixed: RTAS version on Win now loads properly

btw wrote:Thank you for including parallel routing in the update! This opens up even more tone shaping applications for these superb filters. Feels pretty great as a customer to request a feature and see it delivered a week later. Thanks for all the hard work.

One minor thing: whereas user presets created in v1.0.7 will store and recall Serial/Parallel routing with the preset, it seems the routing is not stored in the factory presets--I assume all were designed before parallel routing was an option--at any rate, loading a factory preset will not update the current routing on loading.
You're welcome! Thanks for keeping on suggestion the parallel option, I just needed a little push to get it done. Thanks also for spotting this bug in loading presets, v1.0.8 fixes this (it also happened to the new Step ShSp button).

Thanks Andy much better, so it's more rate units than beats.

The videos will help. Still not 100% on the glide, but will try to figure it out.

I also sent you an email report on a rename bug. Basically in Nuendo 64 on Windows 7, if one chooses rename from menu and instead of immediately typing in a new name, but instead on purpose or accidentally hitting any other part of the gui, the menu is now no longer accessible although the plug in locks normal (except no preset name). One has to close and reopen the GUI to have back access to the menu. Not a major bug, but something you may want to look at.
thanks

Yes one yesterday then a minor fix today. It's no longer in beta.

Post

I thought it was no longer in beta a few weeks ago by now?

Post

I think it just went version 1 a few weeks ago, but it was still version 1 Beta.
