Its not that it's thin per se, but it lacks bass for me...
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

No, it's not. Not even close by a far stretch. Yes, I used to own a Virus TI.

Sylenth1 isn't close either, fwiw. It does it own thing (and does it really well).

From the screenshot it sort of looks like it might have tabs for the oscillators and filters. But obviously we can't see the whole thing and I thought it was going to be a single pane interface from what I heard. Is this true?

One thing about sylenth1 that bothered me was the tabbing between osc1/2 and filter 1, and osc3/4 and filter 2.

Synths with straight forward architechures like these should really show all oscs and filters at the same time. Extra envelopes and lfos should be tabbed before the main components. Just my opinion.

Synthmaster can sound fat. I can also sound good by rare occasion. But indeed, soundwise it's not in the same league as Sylenth. I bought it on sale, tried to like it but ended up never using it.

Serum sounds good to me, kinda like slightly improved Massive, but I expect Hive to have different sound, not that overly digital, more "warm" like The Other Synth.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Are you talking about Hive? Then everything is one page when it comes to oscillators, filters, and envelopes afaik. However some stuff such as ARP and FX will supposedly be shared in the screen-like portion by the look of things.

Which softsynth do you think sounds closest to a Ti?

And on topic: any new Hive audio demos?

Agreed! Not got a chip on my shoulder or anything, but just throwing out my opinion here and there on this because honestly nothing I've heard sounds like a Virus yet there are always so many claims.

The Virus is a vast synth with a lot of special characteristics. Just taking it's effect section as an example. It is probably the most featured and quality sounding in the business with Tape delays, stomp boxes, a killer phaser, rotary, and like 6 chorus modes including the clever air chorus. You won't find something else like it even outside of software.

Then you have all it's wave/formant tables etc, killer.

OP, what do you mean "I guess it's synth month because U-HE is finishing the new Hive synth"

That was like 6 weeks ago, where is the synth? :help:

I think Urs posted that they keep finding things to fine tune, which is good for us :)

They are still aiming for something to be ready by the end of the year though, I think.

Judging by that released demo video, they were probably close to finishing it, but since we have Dune2, Serum, plus jp OSCs in diva, most don't give a single f**k about sylenth or supersaws any more lol, so it's likely that they decided to reconsider it's feature set... because reading at U-he forum on what they are working makes one think what that demo has to do with a synth itself lol
No Hype, No Hive... because No Hive, No Hype  so...

For sylenth fanboys, give up, it's dead, most of your "famous" crap tunes are made with whatever or built in synths coming with DAWs, vengeance drums, FXs, and Nexus... throw it all together randomly, put Ozone limiter on a bus, choose a preset you like and you there...

For me Sylenth1 is alive. It works without wrappers or bugs, at least in PC, and nothing sound similar. It's still the king. Others, sound similar (don't know about Hive)

Those are input selectors. You can route any of the 4 oscillators (2 main + 2 sub) into any of the two filters. Filter 2 can also receive the signal from filter 1.

We've indeed tabbed Arpeggiator/Sequencer, Effects and something yet to be designed in the center display. We've also tabbed the keyboard control, Mod Matrix 1-6 and Mod Matrix 7-12. However, all voice and effects parameters can be visible on a single page.

:)
You make it sound like the OP jumped the gun.
Well perhaps he did by a little. lol
But consider Sylenth's update schedule.
In the time that thing has been touted for a scheduled release I've quite literally aged by a fair bit - somewhat like the end sequence in Space Odyssey 2001. :D

But Sylenth is out.

The Hive isn't even released, and I got a coupon that expires in a couple of days :(

The coupon is good until end of December and Urs and Rob have already mentioned that the coupon will be applicable during the Hive public beta, so we should be covered.
