Hello all!
I have found some conflicting/confusing information in regards to using an IPhone 4 and the CCK to connect a keyboard controller to the phone. I'm Certain that has something to do with how 'old' the phone is and how 'old' some of the info is. In short, can I use the CCK to plug in a class compliant keyboard controller? I am running iOS 8.
thanks for any info!

hi,
Yes, I think it should work on an iphone 4S (unless Apple has disabled this functionality on phones, as part of IOS 8.)
Personally, I am using that setup with an iphone 4s running IOS 7.x and it works great.
However, the CCK does not work with my older iphone 4, so I assume that it might need to be an 's' model to function.
Also, I can't say if upgrading to IOS 8 will break this.
here's a blog link about the enabling of this on IOS7 for reference..

Thanks for the info. Perhaps someone on iOS 8 could chime in before I start spending some money.

bear in mind that not all keyboards will work on just iphone power (may need powered hub)
also, it's worth paying the extra for an official apple cck. i have heard that cheaper models can be pretty unstable
