Concerning your issue of live recording modulation in Repear. I linked 2 of my hardware knobs to Flexo Pad-X and Pad-Y.
Movements of these knobs is recorded as Midi Events in Reaper, but when playing back, the XY-Pad is not moving. :(
Double check the Midi Channel on the settings panel (default is Chan:1)

I just checked in Reaper using MidiCC and the X/Y Pad does move.
I didn't record midi - I just set up the ReaControlMidi panel and set the Envelope channels to set MidiCC26/27

XPad is CC:26
YPad is CC:27
Ribbon is CC:24

I think you need to set X/Y Pad to HOLD mode if you just use those MidiCCs (Touch Mode returns to centre position)

I need to use XY Pad, you get much more interplay of the 2 params using the GUI - there must be a way to record it in Reaper - Automation is a core aspect of VSTs!

Hi Everyone,

I totally reworked the last half of my entry thanks to the suggestion of pedalsteeldrummer. Thanks for the feedback - I really hope this is an *improvement* over the original, haha!! It definitely think it sounds more like a complete song with a bit of a 'bang' at the end now :)

Good luck to everybody: I'm looking forward to listening to the other entries more closely!

Again this is different to my last works. Inspired from some space tracks here and letting me guide from the sound of the synth this is the result. This synth was not easy to do. Couldn't work on my studio PC, cause of much CPU consumption of the synth. The Dual Core was overextended with only one instance. So I went back to my Laptop where already I tried some patches. Worked with headphones only, no monitor speakers. Hope everything is right. :phones:
It drived me nuts on starting final rendering. :dog: Reaper_host crashed constantly at the beginning. Changed all parameters in preferences, didn't help. Last things that I changed was the global samplerate. That worked.
Finally this was a really busy month. First rework on my DomestEQ8D, than I had an afair with samples making the Funky Alchemist (listen on SC) and this. Additional I was very busy in my job. :wheee:

Have fun with the track.
Cheers

Haha. The same for me :)
Good new is, I already have a hex core here. Just waiting for january to disassemle my rack, when the studio is moving... :D

if those six cores are intel, then i'm all jealous now :)
actually i'm waiting for prices to drop at least a bit for a nice socket 2011-3 system with an i7-5820K.
but unfortunately, this hasen't happened for more than 1% ever since it got introduced in september this year.
it's really odd to see how stable hardware prices have become nowadays. :?

hmmm interesting. I have a 3 year old win7 quad core i7 with 12gb ram and cubase 7.5.

I found this synth to be more efficient on my setup than most recent synths - especially considering how powerful it is. Only problem was an occasional glitch - particularly on sounds using the noise on osc3, but this not down to cpu usage. However, apart from limiter on the master bus i only used fx and eq built into the synth.

OBXD for eg was by far the most power hungry and i can barely play the file from my entry on this setup since i upgraded cubase!

I still run my Q8300 @ 2.5Ghz quadcore. Nearly 5 years old now and I've found it creaks a bit at 150 audio tracks with eq on most, some verb busses and other fx busses plus a master chain.

But then, I am also running W7 with 4 gigs as well! Only 2 memory slots and getting 2 bigger memory modules for it comes in at silly prices. Probably get a new one in the next year or so ... trouble is you get very comfy with your own setup. But, maybe a VST clearout won't be a bad thing!

Nice tracks coming in at the last minute. Well done everyone. Have been commenting.

Cheers,

dB

Intel? Nope. Prefer AMD.
It will replace a dual core, that worked for all previuos tasks. Decided to upgrade just for faster rendering. Flexoid is first Vst that made problems so far.

lmfao. Hope santa Delivers keith!

We have 7 hours to go here. I think I'm going to copy my midi over to either next month or jan, and continue. Got a nice 'night rider' 80's tune going, but like spider-j, a bit raw.

Good luck everyone :)

Am I the only one that's jealous that you have an actual studio? :)

haha ...nice one. Looks like I am sunk this month too due to DAW issues. The thing has been crashing-out all over the place and now I have static coming through the monitors that has slowly been driving me around-the-bend.

I will definitely vote tho as I am very keen to see what sounds the OSCers have milked from this thing.

Oh and a special thanks to Mr Kerry for (inadvertently) helping out with my GAS this year :tu:

This plugin is amaz......

EDIT: This PC hooplah is probably related to the on-set of the warm weather down here ...Jealous anyone?
