Good new is, I already have a hex core here. Just waiting for january to disassemle my rack, when the studio is moving...
Am I the only one that's jealous that you have an actual studio? :)
Oh, please don't overvalue the word "studio". It's just how I call the room where all the music stuff is in. But with moving just to another room its will hopefully get a better structure and really deserve the description "studio". :)

Yes I am jealous.

Great month everyone, will get the gears rolling here. Anyone else interested in trying out the sibling sometime in a future OSC?

Wideboy? Yes. It's a little easier than Flexo.

5x CK_XJ_Flexoid (Sounds)
1x CK_Multi-Band_Processor (Multi-band Compressor)
1x CK_Multi-FX (Strap Compressor + EQ)

Nice selection of tracks everyone. Some super sound design with this trickier (but versatile) synth!

Good luck to the other 10!

Now on to the next synth - see ya all next time.

Also voted.

Wow, this was the easiest OSC I've ever voted for! :)

Seriously some good tracks, though. Nothing less than 3 from me.

I suppose I might appreciate some of it more if I'd actually fired up X-J F, but... I'm a whiny Mac user now!

Even though I didn't participate, anyone who wants constructive criticism feel free to PM me.

Challenging this one - you really would have had fun!

Any views on anything along the track? And thanks for the "first in" comment :hihi: Never thought I would be first in halfway through the month!

Cheers,

Yup ...for sure :)

Solved my DAW/PC issues too. Turns out the power supply was slowly failing due to cheap capacitors they used in those things. Opened it up (errrmmmm ..maybe not try that at home :uhuhuh:) and sure enough ...splits and leakage in the top of several of the caps.

So mad :x

Anyway it's replaced now so I can start listening to all your entries.

VOTED :tu:

Some seriously good sounds and fx and the tracks are all very good with one or 2 absolutely beautifully crafted ones - puts mine to shame haha

I'd love to gather together the Flexoid Presets to make them available to all:
Kicks, hats and perc sets, Pads, Leads, FX, etc.

Cheers!

Yeah, so annoying when it just breaks down slowly - at least mine just died on the spot - no reason as it was probably 4 times overspec'd for the machine as well, so was never stressed. Perhaps we need military grade components in them? Once did a database job for a company who tested the "survivability" of the database by dropping a running machine from the top of a 5 story building and pushing it out of the back of a tank into deep muddy puddles! It was also a distributed database, so even if that machine died (for whatever reason!!!), then the data still had to survive. Neat stuff. And you can bet the psu's were not going to die real soon.
Anyway it's replaced now so I can start listening to all your entries.
Great to have you back! Enjoy the tracks, lots of very nice ones, you clever people.

Cheers Rob, you had my attention at Once did a......
Anyway this one is guaranteed for 10 years but I think I'll hold off on the 5 story impact test for now

As for the presets mentioned above, I really felt when working with this synth that i would have been very handy to have an internal preset manager for the Delay, Reverb, EQ etc. so that one could save some separate setups for say Reverb as well as the sound generation side.

I suppose one could always just create a preset DelayTriplet-Cathedral or similar, kind of like pre-FX-ed init patches?

Not FR-ing ...just thinking out loud.

That would have been nice, I agree. Sometimes when doing a patch (by modding one done previously), I forgot to fix all the various FX sections, and ended up with something which was not quite right (my worst one was my kick had some reverb on it, which made it very muddy - and I forgot to check there first when trying to fix it!!!! Duh!).

Most of my patches simply had ALL the FX turned off (except when I wanted some chorus or distortion - coz it's not allowed in the rules to use an external fierce mod fx!!). I then used various 3rd party FX to get the sound I wanted.

Cheers,

dB

PS. Suffice to say the total IQ of the team chucking the machine off the roof was about 12!
