Woooooweeee... AWESOME :D

Can't wait to hear what the great OSC composers are going to do with it :hail:

To get you guys started, several guys have already made patches for Ragnarök, available on the KVR product page:
http://www.kvraudio.com/product/ragnar- ... /downloads
CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, Moved to Reason and Rack Extensions exclusively (from Reaper and VSTs) several years ago.

Definitely an exciting month :D

Looks like a cool synth! Wish there were Mac ports of the FullBucket stuff. ;)

:tu: Time to get stuck in and see what this baby can do :hyper: :hyper:

Post

Yeah. Let it röck! :D

Post

Grrr, no mac! What the hell? I can try to port it to mac if its using vstgui.

Important tip: take fifteen minutes to read through the manual, there are some hidden tricks available (not really hidden, but maybe not obvious). Also take a look at the preset notes in the manual, as they demonstrate some features (like the repeat function, partial mod-wheel tracking for the filter).

Have fun guys, looking forward to what you come up with :hyper:

Congratulations are in order. I am hoping that again the talented sound designers who participate in OSC competitions will donate their patches to the Ragnarok sound library.

Cooked this up earlier today:
https://soundcloud.com/bjporter/ragnarok-fun

At the end it goes awash in space and time, starts out drier, with a sprinkling of high pitch tones here and there bouncing around.

Kick, clap, and hi hat

Post

aww, maan no mac !
although, considering the low amount of controls (relatively spoken), it would be perfectly suited for the average mac user, i presume ;)

but seriously, this looks.. pretty neat and clear for change !

@bjporter: Nice. Love those simmering hi-hats :D

@keith303: Yep, Ragnarök was designed to be very accessible for making sounds. And although the base architecture is indeed relatively simple, the stackable oscillator voices together with the spread and interval setting gives a lot of sonic material to work with from the oscillator, going into the filter ;)

Glad to see RagnaröSC is this month... last month, I was swamped with work and family obligations, and I'll probably be off of OSC at least Feb-April due to a MOOC, but I really wanted to have a play with this latest community synth. So far, I hate to admit, I think I like it better than the GAS synths I bought this year. (Fortunately they were cheap)

Interesting seeing the defensive tone of the FAQ in the manual; a sign of troll culture here on KVR, alas. From the One Synth perspective, I do get the gripes: its a rare synth that lacks a saw waveform and velocity sensitivity. However, personally, not having the crutch of a saw is a great exercise in leveraging the square and pulse. And lack of velocity just simplifies things actually... can ignore entire sequencer panels, for example.

Great UI. Clear, usable, well-laid out, nice default skin, and above all, it's the perfect size! Don't know what the haters are whining about; that's exactly the size all fixed-resolution synth GUIs should be. It's like you tested it in my DAW on my laptop! The "init" button is a nice touch. I did notice one cosmetic glitch: the EQ knobs would shift a little, just once, a few seconds after I stopped editing them. Saw it a few times, but intermittently.

So far, I have some banging percs, decent bass (needs more work... but there's no question Ragnarök is up for fat bass) and quite a nice organic pad. Going to be a fun month!
