Thanks you all for submitting revised version for second round. I will listen and will announce the my choices most probably this weekend. Meanwhile, please mix the amazing soundtrack style song donated by Doc Jon for this month.

While Satya is still doing the evaluation for the second mix round, I updated the statistics sheet.
Compyfox wrote:The Statistics Sheet:

The most current mix statistics sheet can be found at the following link:
KVR Mix Challenge 06 - Statistics Sheet
I also did a mistake with my last sheet - set the "blue" warning indicators wrong.

If you want to bridge the waiting time, please do either of the following, or everything of that list:
  • follow/share us on Twitter - the hashtag is #kvrmixchallenge
  • Join the KVR MC07, with a great song by Doc Jon
  • Spead the word about the KVR Mix Challenge on either community. The more participants, the greater the challenge, the bigger the fun!

These are my final five:

1. Aditya.inHim - Overall this is the best. All the sounds are clear and are in their own space as it should.
2. 3ee - Lost to #1 on a short margin because it fell short on FX sounds clarity
3. Westcoast - Low end of the drums has been lost but still all sounds are pretty clear. "The Best" work on FX sounds.

4. MixedMind - Another excellent track but Tabla is totally lost in other sounds.
5. XorXist - Again, Table sound is changed too much. On this one, it sounds more like a "Dholak" (another India percussion) than Tabla.

Congratulations to you all for such an amazing job.

Thanks for the announcement, satYatunes. And congratulations to the winners.

As usual, the winners can now pick a price from the available ones in the pool (see page 1). Though if you're happy with what you already have at your disposal, feel free to pass it on.

Time for prize distribution. We have 3 prizes for top 3. We will go in order, Aditya.inHim. You can announce your selection here in this thread and pass it on to next. Also, please send me your full name, e-mail and choice of prize through PM. If you have an account with the company of your selected prize then do let me know as well.

Camsr requested for feedback on other tracks in an earlier post. So here we go:

Clepsydrae - Too much reverb on beat, the delayed part is audible, pad too low. Panning on Shakuhachi is good, Tabla was good, Guitar wasn't clear

Camsr - Pad was too loud and overpowering, Snare is very aggressive, Rev Cymbal is compressed too much, Vocal is also subdued by other sounds. Tabla not very clear but Guitar is good. Thunder not good but Rain is..

Davias - Snare is not clear, entire beat could have used some space around , Pad is loud, overpowering with lot of aliasing. Vox at 1:19 is totally different. Shakuhachi and vox is buried under other elements

Doc Jon - Snare and bass sound was a bit aggressive. I loved this track and it almost made to top 5 but as I had promised in the beginning, it secured less mark because samples were replaced

Photonic - Shakuhachi was not good at 0:57, Rev Cymbal was too loud. This was also a close contender.

szalonkyp - Pad too loud, overpowering other elements, Snare was aggressive, Tabla not clear. Thunder was good.

Thanks for the #2 place, really happy to see I managed to succeed in achieving "the client's" demands! :D

IMO, Aditya.inHim did make a better mix than me, better overall clarity and ambiance, love the air on that pad, I would have done that too if I would have checked his mix sooner...

Congratulations to the winners!

Big thanks to SatYatunes and Compyfox.

SatYatunes, sorry about the tabla  .

I've learned a lot, yet my journey just started.

5 place in my first mix challenge is not that bad :) .
