Hi,

Suppose I have a 4 bars long pad chord and would like to make it more rhythmatic .... Expect LFO moulation, what other effect plugin you suggested me to get this result ? Earebound and camelphat just came to my mind. Any other plugin that I've overlooked?

Thanks!

Rhythmic gate

Volume Shaper is great for giving pads a rythmic effect

I like Melda Tremelo as well, you can do some quite complex stuff with it

Sidechain compression too

Beside volume automation and tremolo effects (which is the same), a LFO-automated filter (for example, the free Cadence) or vibrato (pitch) effect could also help, for example MVibrato by MeldaProduction...

MRhythmizer came to my mind, too, or Grossbeat by ImageLine...

Many from Sinevibes will do this as well

Camel Audio CamelSpace is made to do exactly what you want, and then some.

FabFilter Volcano 2 or FabFilter Saturn can both "rhythmize" any sound source simply by using the LFO (which is basically a step sequencer) modulating the output volume.. or something else, like the filters (cross over filters in Saturn). Heck you can even use FabFilter Timeless in case you don't mind some latency if you use it as an insert effect (set it to minimum delay).

If you're happy with "just" a simple pattern such as a sine wave check out the u-he Uhbik package, a temposynced frequency shifter isn't something you hear that often. For the other modulation effects in the package you can bend and warp the LFO wave a bit for emphasis of the downbeat etc.

Vocoding with a suitable rhythm could work. You'll want the rhythm track to be the modulator and the pad to be the carrier, hopefully you know what that means or will find a vocoder with a useful manual that may guide you.

Tempo synced LFO or pattern modulation of a comb filter.

Tempo synced LFO or pattern/stepsequencer modulation of just about any sort of FX, if you've got Native Instruments Guitar Rig dig into the stepsequencer and set one or more to modulate some FX parameter(s).

Definitely try vocoding it with a drum track as the modulator.

I've added some suggestions to the topic (top left) :D

Edit: only one actually, the mighty ScuzzPhut. Wanted to add Rythmic Tangent as well but that doesn't seem to be in the KVR-database.

I'd use a gate triggered by a sidechain for this most of the time.

Unless I want specific tremelo or compression effect.

But the sidechain gate is the technique to learn. Mixerman has a great video tutorial on it if you wanted to search for that?

Ooh. I need to try this.
