Why in the world is this disappointing? Otherwise you have to buy Software from synleor
I am going merely by the video, as the Steinberg page is currently hammered like there is no tomorrow. To no surprise if the download really is 9GB (a DVD9).

So it was disappointing to see in this particular video. Else yes, Synleor Harmony Improvisator would have been the solution. And I am eying that one for quite a while now. Though if Steinberg "incorporated" that system, and actually usable, it would make Harmony Improvisator obsolete.

But it wasn't as expected in C7.x, and there is no demo yet for C8.

Still blurry and cut off in certain sections.

You can't be serious.
Yes I am serious on this. It is presented as "revolution", if it should have been a fix since C6 days IIRC. And it was mainly with the Media Bay, which is now part of a "docked" window (actually, one of the "dock tabs" like with the Mix Console).

At this point, I am also really interested at the "ASIO Guard v2", and if the ASIO load REALLY improved. One of my main issues with C7. But... why paid again? It should have been a maintenance update.

The more I look at it, half of the "new features" are paid maintenance updates again. I am really not interested in an updated "Fuzz Box", or more content for Groove Agent, neither VST Connect SE (wow - v3 already, development sure is fast on this one - at least faster than the Musician Network system where this originated from).

The main points of interest for me in this "Upgrade" are:
- ASIO improvements (ASIO Guard v2)
- Routing Improvements (requested since SX1 days!)
- Plugin Manager (requested since VST3 was implemented), if it's really like the WL one
- Bounce in Place
- Chord Track enhancements
- Window Handling (are the resize bugs in the mix console gone? is the always on top bug gone?)

Is it worth 100EUR for me?
I don't know - I want to put it to the test it first! And then I need the actual funds. Else, it's just buzzwords to keep the drum rolling. And that doesn't convince me.

It is the other way around, windows on the PC now behave like on the Mac, they can be rearranged and resized at will.
There is not such thing as dockable windows either on the PC or the Mac, what has been done is that the VST Instrument rack can now be docked to the project page, and has a tab which shares with the MediaBay.

Definitely appreciated, sempondr. Thanks.

Now we only need access to the official demo so that those of us, that are not on Grace Periods or "preoder" can test the software.

I hope that more tabs are added to the dock in the future, like the new plugin collections, the workspace organizer, etc.

It was mentioned in some of the videos, that the "always on top" thing was improved/fixed. Is it now working that a plug-in can be not "always on top" and a maximized windows is still maximized? Maybe it was only a windows behavior and never a problem on OSX.

The "bounce in place" and "windows on top" are a couple of tangible improvements that I definitely want. Worth $99? Probably not on their own, but I'm sure there will be a bunch of little goodies that I'll discover that will make it worthwhile. Getting it regardless.

I didn't see anything about any new .vsti, although the new FX .vst's look interesting.
Does anyone know if there are any new instruments in there? Or is it all FX?

So many plugins, so little time...

Having Mac windowing functionality on a PC is less than thrilling. It's like having a big toe for a middle finger.

1 gb downloaded, 3 gb more to go for the Artist 8 update... probably 5 hours at this rate.

They did fix the AOT for plugins issue, at the expense of being able to have the mixconsole AOT. Depending on how you use the mixconsole will depend on if that is annoying to you.
