That was the 1st point.

^^ If you're going to be nasty about someone, at least don't edit their post just to get your unprovoked snideness in.
Have a look at the penultimate sentence, dickhead

True Doug, especially when you have to read this in another thread:

Little bug, sorry if it was already reported...

 indeed!
(And thanks).

Anyway, thanks Angus - it's very good news that the GUI will be larger :)

(The reason I, and perhaps a couple of others who made the similar GUI point in this thread, missed the 2 obvious large screenshots in the OP is that you have to be signed in as a KVR member for them to appear in the post; if you're not signed in, you don't see them).

I too was left scratching my head after reading Doug1978's comment. Maybe he didnt get as far as reading the fourth line of Angus's post.

But it isnt even the screen shots at all is the issue. I like JPRacer had the same reaction.
Glitch-free, 100% vector scalable UI, available in (at least) two flavours. Currently we have a dark look for people who like to work in the dark (roughly equivalent to the Logic Pro X or Bitwig stock colour schemes) and a bright one for people working in a more daylit environment. It will scale to suit any screen size / pixel density / resolution with no bitmap artifacting (because it's no longer based on bitmaps.

But what is the point on commenting on an OP, when you don't actually read the OP?

^^ in truth, it was an oversight by me whilst scanning all the many sentences in the OP.

But the very large screenshots (once signed in) make it obvious that there has been some excellent new changes to the GUI.

Anyway, thank you zvenx for showing restraint (and just scratching your head) rather than coming out with the snide and pathetic point-scoring of the other member who edited my post for his own means.

And I really don't want my oversight about the GUI to dominate this page, so I'm quitting this thread now.
Cheers.

edit - bye.

Hi, it has happened to all of us. No harm, no foul...No reason to quit the thread... I am done on commenting...

So looking forward to this. It's amazing, prior to ios7 I couldn't stand flat gui's, now just look at me loving even flat gui's :-)

Looks like Angus forgot to post this one here, so I'll do it! I did a wee little set of sounds with Strobe 2 yesterday. Each sound is a single instance, effects come from Strobe 2 as well:

The GUI resizing works *very* well, and I don't know if anyone clocked it, but there are light and dark versions of the skin.

Strobe 2 sounds great, oh and someone mentioned phase reset... yup. It's in there!

Strobe 2 sounds absolutely amazing! I do not own SS1, so I am more than interested buying only Strobe 2. How much it will going to cost, Angus?

Sounds awesome :o

Any talk of grace periods is a little premature while Synth Squad is on sale at $99.

The GUI is not entirely flat (the controls still have some hilight / shadow, for example), but it leans that way mostly because a bitmap-less interface is easier to do stuff with (whether that's scaling, animation, layout changes, recolouring etc..) and a cleaner, simpler design = less distraction for your eyes on what is a fairly dense UI. We're not dogmatic about it. Happy to hear any practical suggestions for improvement, but usability & flexibility is more important than gratuitous 3D synth-pron. This is software which is proud to be software - learning from what makes great hardware great, certainly, but not pretending to be it.

@ cowby CPU usage is much improved, especially but not only on AVX-capable CPUs. Some patches are under 15% of one core, 32 voices @ 2x oversampled. x64 gets a nice boost vs x86 as well.

MIDI output from the sequencer/arpeggiator - should be possible, but won't get all the Transmod goodies that way.
