Re: Presswerk 2nd Public Beta (Rev 3169)
Little bug, sorry if it was already reported...

The difference is before I reported this bug I checked on the 1st page to see if it was on the "Known issues" list and it's not. Maybe it was mentioned earlier, I don't know, but I did read the 1st post by Urs just to be sure.

Maybe you see some similarity but I don't.

Excited to hear this. I'll admit, I just got through snarking on the SS1 GUI in another thread, and then BAM!, I see this. Lol. SS1 is cool, and I'd buy it again (and I got it before it was $99). I think the layouts are pretty friendly and useable. My complaint is that they look so grainy and not sharply defined. Sharp edges to every shape conveys a feeling of precision to me, maybe I'm an outlier in that respect. The product is still good under the GUI that doesn't appeal possibly only me. Lol.
I've learned to appreciate flat GUI's from Valhalla, so going that route isn't a bad thing imho. I love really like my Arturia stuff too, but do not enjoy monkeying around with the tiny, "realistic" CS80 GUI that they provide. It looks cool, but it could be easier to work with with some scaleablity. You're on the right track.
There's a very good chance that I'll be making the step up when the full squad is released.
Thanks for the serious work. All UI talk aside, I'm looking forward to the new improvements and efficiency. You're already making a worthwhile product as it is. :tu:

They can't just be sidestepped. I would feel pretty miffed if I had just bought SS at $99, and being told afterwards that I was not included in the upgrade plans, because I bought the plugs during a sale.
All existing & new customers will be included in upgrade paths (on a side note: there was, and still is, an upgrade path from GURU to Geist - the name change was for trademark reasons). It's certainly not a free upgrade though & as I said above, talk of grace periods is premature. You can buy Synth Squad 1 knowing that the synths have a bright future - but, equally, don't buy SS1 unless you want SS1.
So if the synths are going to sell separately...will there be any point to buy Fusor if we don't get one of the other synths?
A little early to say.
Now, while I personally don't care about it, I'm still curious....but will there be 0dff on the new filters? You know everyone's going to ask anyway. lol.
It's not an iterative solving filter (assuming that's what you mean by 0dff). However it sounds excellent throughout the audible range & is playable at 32 voices, 8x oversampled, 32smps latency on a single core of an AVX-equipped CPU ("Sandy Bridge" and newer). In v1 you pretty much had to go to offline render mode to use it at 8x, that's no longer the case.
This account is dormant, I am no longer employed by FXpansion / ROLI.

Find me on LinkedIn or elsewhere if you need to get in touch.

This is great news, particularly about the extra mod slots! Transmod is a great system, though it does cause my brain to ache slightly for the first 15 minutes if I haven't used it for a while :) The tone control and leakage control sound like excellent new additions, and the patch switching is an unexpected new angle. Keep teasing!

Sounds great, please include possibility to set GUI for example at small 100%, medium 125%, large 150% etc, so that it ALWAYS opens at this size, not everyone like arbitrary scaling. For example MotU Mach5 v3 has this feature of three different predefined sizes.

I really like the way V1 looks, but now all the personality has been stripped from the GUI. V2 (light) looks exactly like a flat Spire. All the other enhancements are welcomed.

I was wishing for 0dfb filters but on the other hand I'm still using v1 occasionally (and still annoyed by the few remaining bugs) and it still sounds pretty good, especially Cypher. The oversampling helps a lot, so in the end I will try it out and I'm sure it'll sound good.
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

looks and sounds great. :D
looking forward to it (as an ss1-user)!

Does sound nice, i'm not a big fan of the new gui, i like the different colour idea though.

I've got ss1 and always forget that i have it and load up another plugin when creating a new track, this thread has brought it back to my attention.

How are you doing the Fx's will you have to load up fusor to get access the delay and reverb or can you just load up the instance of strobe?

I think Image-Line is helping the trend to Vector based GUI.

Honestly, it really is time for many other developers to look in this direction. Computers are fast enough, and graphics cards are best and most independent from the rest of the system as ever. 2D is all the rage again.

And we are all aging.

So it works.

Oh yea...how does it SOUND?

Can't wait till you take my money...again!

put fx version on an FX send .. route 15 audio tracks to it .. automate audio track faders, eqs etc... Instant wave table.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer
