musicdevelopments wrote: I watched the video in which you played with the phrase preview. It was very inspiring for me. I will add "scale" to the phrase preview of course. Now I see it is badly needed. But don't ask me when the final v2.8 will be released, as the list of tasks is just getting longer instead of getting empty. :( There are a few known bugs too that must be fixed.

Best,

thanks
Sure, I added this today. You will find this option in the track view options menu (the small eye icon).

Hi Attila!
I just found out the reason of the fact that real-time I did not hear the changes dragging phrases "up and down"!
The reason for this change of pace! I drag the MIDI file directly in the track and all the changes are audible, but when I change the pace of the problem is back!
And after I returned to the original tempo, the problem disappears!
I think that is not recalculated tempo MIDI file, but you know better!
And one more thing which is not clear to me ...
Appearance of midi notes in the track is different, depending on the encryption algorithm! For me is important to see the absolute note names, regardless of how the algorithm is coded phrase! Possible to make an optional view midi score in phrases for melodic lines and chords and coded phrases and absolute score so that the notes in all variants was the name of score in absolute terms (eg A- C # -B, etc.)
Thanks! with respect lulukom

Yes, I hope Chris will make a few more videos.
Until then please check out his songs at http://www.oustedrecords.com/#!chris-caulder/c13iv

I especially like this one. I don't know if he used RapidComposer, probably not

And yet, Attila, please explain to me what is the difference (for MIDI input via MIDI controller) between the keyboard icon (to the left of the Master track) and the same icon in the pop up menu for suggestions chords?
Thanks!

Post

Hi lulukom,

the keyboard icon to the left of the master track can be enabled if you want to use your own chords during playback that you hold down on your MIDI keyboard instead of the master track chords. In other words, the master track goes "live" when you enable it.
Try to start playback, and use your MIDI keyboard to enter chords and listen to your composition with the harmonies that you are playing.

Best,
Attila

The latest beta version (v2.8b12) is available now with the following fixes and improvements:
  • MIDI preview instruments did not work (fixed)
  • phrase generator presets were not handled well (e.g. in idea tool, saving/loading)
  • new scale browser
  • Alt-click deselects all phrases in all tracks
  • it is possible to specify key-switch velocity for articulations
  • new track view option: color notes according to original note quality (chord/scale/bass/absolute)
I'll be out of office till the end of the week, so I hope there won't be any serious problems with this update.
I'd be grateful if you post a 'bump' message sometimes in this topic while I am away:

This might be the wrong thread for this question:

Does RC have a harmonization feature that includes vocal harmonies such as Beach Boys, Lettermen, Four Freshman, etc.?

I'd like to recreate some of the types of harmonies that are on the album

Let me know if I should move this to another thread, thanks.

I would love to be able to import an audio track to use as a reference while working on my MIDI tracks. Do not need to do any editing or anything...just play it along with my MIDI tracks when I press the play button.

Post

I would love to be able to save my separate MIDI tracks to individual WAV files for later use in my DAW. I realized tonight I can do this by soloing each track and export as WAV but having an option to save these separately with a single save would be great!

Perhaps I misunderstand John, however, I believe this feature is available.

Right click a track to open the inspector. Select the second icon (the cog wheel) and view down to second selection (Add Audio track (U)).

Then select the audio track and the inspector changes to add "Import Audio" (7th item). A dialog will open allowing you to choose the audio you want to import when you click this item.

The audio plays along with the timeline when you start playback.

Is this what you needed?
