This is incorrect, you absolutely can automate from any dotted to any triplet time using the rate control (by enabling both switches). The purpose of the switches are just for enabling (or preventing) certain LFO rates to appear in the rate control, which allows for easier rate selection of the times you may wish to automate between. The switches could easily simply not exist (always on).LFO speed has dotted and triplet values available though you cannot automate from a dotted to a triplet or vice versa.
I understand (sort of) the desire to program entire sounds via remote, but Serum (or at least the mindset) was really built around the mouse in a sense, making sounds with the visual feedback already provided, and automation for just that (things you'd want to change to sculpt the sound during your song, which is obviously potentially most parameters). I personally think the mouse and screen are a much superior input format to paging between banks of 8 knobs or whatnot. In any case the most important 250+ controls are available and the software is still in its infancy, so requests can go in the Serum forum, which is where I add features from.
